Today is still the same, I don't know how to respond to Mr. George's words about the breakup with Rosalie. I really don't want to remember if I can, but if the elders are after Rosalie. Then I'm afraid I won't be able to protect her even if her memories are erased. I'm not just going to erase Rosalie's memories, the others including Mary will have their memories erased as well. Except for Brilly, maybe I'll try to persuade her not to spread other strange rumors. In return, she could take Rosalie away from me. That's all I could think of to keep Rosalie safe. Even though it was risky for me, at least I was giving the best for Rosalie. All the way to campus, Rosalie was the only thing on my mind. Looking at the bouquet of flowers I bought earlier made me even more restless. I couldn't bear to leave my soulmate again. If they were happy, would I still be miserable here? Right at the parking lot, I could see Rosalie laughing in the distance. Together with Mary, of course, as she got out of the car. For some reason, I felt like someone was lurking around. However, when I investigated further, there was nothing suspicious at all. Everything seemed to be safe and under control. My focus was broken when Mary called my name with a shrill shout and waved. Followed by Rosalie's smile that I was always proud of, her sincere and simple smile that was able to captivate me until now. When the two of them approached me, the same feeling came back. Making me reflexively look for the person's whereabouts. "Jasper? What's wrong?" asked Rosalie. I shook my head as I smiled at her. "No, I just thought I had met that person over there before," I lied as I pointed in a random direction. However, for some reason the person I just pointed at showed a strange reaction, as if he knew that I was looking for someone. "Then let's get going before Mr. Jack goes berserk because we're late," Rosalie said as she took my hand. I just nodded at her words, while my mind was still on the man I pointed at earlier. Looking back, he wasn't an old student here, was he a new student this year? Somehow his face looked very familiar. I feel like I've seen him before, but I don't know where. "Jasper, you look very out of focus," Rosalie whispered. My daydream was broken when I heard her soft voice. She seemed very worried, but I shook my head and pinched her nose. Trying to look calm so she wouldn't worry about anything. "I'm fine," I said. I knew she wouldn't believe a word I said, but trust me, I didn't want Rosalie to find out sooner about the problems we were all facing? These few, if not no other options made it even harder for me to tell Rosalie the truth. Curse me, the elders might kill me and Rosalie if I still insisted on maintaining this relationship. Throughout the class, there was not a single subject that I listened to. I had been repeating the same subjects for a very long time. Even afterward, I decided to walk alone, before Brilly finally approached me with that devilish smile of hers. Really, I hate the smell of demons, but somehow Brilly didn't have that smell. "I heard your family is in trouble. Does Rosalie know about it?" Brilly asked. "You heard it as the wind passed by. Or find out?" I said. "Of course it's the latter. I'm a demon, have you forgotten?" asked Brilly. I just rolled my eyes lazily, I really didn't want to be bothered. However, it seemed like the right time to give her a bit of a pep talk. "Brilly, I'm not sure if I can continue with Rosalie. If the time comes, will you look after her for me? Consider me leaving her to you," I said. Brilly was silent, a second later she shook her head. How could she refuse my request? For a moment, didn't she really want Rosalie? "Why, you don't want her?" I asked. "Of course I want her. But not Rosalie. I know you have the power to erase someone's memory, but the feelings Rosalie has for you will never fade," Brilly explained. Damn, are all demons like this? Full of deceit? However, somehow I could feel the sincerity in her tone. "I won't fall for your tricks, Brilly." "Demons never lie about their feelings. That would be lying to ourselves," Brilly said. "I need to break up with her," I said. I could see Brilly was angry, one hand gripping the collar of my shirt with both eyes bulging. "Jasper, I'd kill you right here if that really happened," Brilly said. "If you were me, Would you choose to kill Rosalie? I don't want this either! I waited for her for five centuries. Now, I have only two choices. Split up or die together," I explained. Brilly immediately slammed my shirt collar and made me stagger back a little. Making her emotions even more overwhelmed by my words just now. I couldn't understand why she was so angry. "Rosalie told me yesterday that she would never leave you. If, one day, she had to part with you and you erased her memory, I have to remind her that you've always been in her life," Brilly explained. "So, what happened that you had to leave your soulmate alone?" asked Brilly. I sighed very heavily again. Again, I thought, will Brilly understand if I explain everything? Will she understand my intention to leave Rosalie? Or would she just want to know the problem? "Someone tried to stir up the elders, saying that Rosalie would have a strong influence if she became one of us. When Elle saw it, she saw that Rosalie would become a vampire," I explained. "Mark. Right?" asked Brilly. "How did you know?" I asked. "Of course I knew; he wanted a war, Jasper. He's got us demons teaming up with him for a rebellion," said Brilly. I was shocked. That was the extent of Mark's plan? How could he want to cooperate with the demons? "Do you agree to it?" I asked. "Of course not, Uriel. Our leader says we don't exist to be ruled by fools like you. That's what he told Mark," said Brilly. "But that doesn't mean no one follows him secretly," Brilly said again.
