"A protective wall?" I grumbled.
I knew my tone of voice was not good, in the midst of a crowd of many other vampires. I wanted to make sure that what the Elders had said earlier was just mockery.
However, seeing Joshua nodding firmly, it suddenly made me sit down instantly. They want to close the Immortal World temporarily because of the chaos this time. The betrayal committed by Mark turned out to reveal many secrets and things in life that we must know.
"Jasper, let Rosalie go," Brilly said.
My emotions are running high. Why would you say that after everything that's happened? It's ridiculous. Everything happened because of their decision, and should I just accept it gracefully? Even the saying would laugh, I'm sure.
"Cassandra, you shouldn't say that at a crucial time like this. You know that's something I can't do," I whispered.

"Rosalie, tell me, how can you conquer a playboy like him?" Mary said as she looked sarcastically at Jasper, who continued to follow me.
I didn't answer him; I wasn't feeling well. Since the fight in front of my house with this man beside me, I left him outside and went inside the house. I don't know if he was still watching me or not. However, the next morning, he was already in the same place where I left him.
I wondered: had she been in the same place for so long? If I think about it, vampires don't need sleep. However, that's all in a novel. I don't know if that's the case in reality.
"I just said it yesterday; I will laugh the loudest if you fall in love. Now that you've succeeded,
"No one is in love here, neither me nor him. We're not lovers, as rumoured. Do you understand?" I asked.
Rumours about my love affair with Jasper had spread all over campus. Creating a lot of fake news on campus forums. Luckily, none of Jasper's fans were desperate to hurt me, even though they could be considered vicious if another woman approached Jasper.
"Rosalie's right, it's just a personal problem," Jasper said.
I nodded along, but Mary seemed to take it the wrong way. You can tell by her shocked expression and the way she looks at my flat stomach. "Are you pregnant, Rosalie?" gasped Mary.
"Mary, listen to me. You've got it all wrong. It's not what you think," I said, soothing Mary. But she was busy grumbling as she turned her back on both of us. Just as I was about to explain what happened, Jasper pulled my hand away from Mary, who was still babbling. He led me to the classroom hallway faster.
"Your friend is so loud," he grumbled.
I didn't reply; I just rolled my eyes lazily and entered the classroom. Before finally seeing Jasper already sitting on my usual seat as he fiddled with his fingers,
"It looks like you're not going to answer me," he said.
Is he going to keep asking such silly questions? Who wouldn't be annoyed if you had to be stalked by someone you weren't close to all the time? Even if he were your best friend, it would be uncomfortable. I chose to sit on one of the benches and try to ignore Jasper's existence. Until finally, Jasper was right next to my bench.
"You're really going to keep me quiet all day?" he said as he brought his face closer.
"More precisely, forever." I spoke. I checked my bag and took out the book that would be studied in the class.
"Then I'll make you talk to me. Forever," she said as she disappeared from my sight.
I looked for him for a while, thinking he was just joking about leaving me alone in this class. until I finally realized that he was really gone. Even when class was over, I couldn't find him anywhere. For a moment, I was grateful; I was finally free. But as I was passing through the hallway to my next class.
I saw a riot in the campus park; some lecturers even intervened to disperse a group of female students. I certainly didn't care; I'm not the type of person who likes crowds or certain gatherings. Just then, Mr. George approached me with a surprised expression.
"Hello, Mr. George. Are you going to scold me again for asking for more novels in the library?" I teased with a chuckle, but seeing Mr. George's serious expression, I went back to my normal self and let him talk.
"Today, there were about ten trucks that delivered books from different publishers on your behalf to the campus. When I asked who was responsible for paying for them, everything was paid for by Mr. Cameron," Mr. George explained.
I rolled my eyes, Jasper. What does he want, for heaven's sake? "Isn't it great that I can read more books?" I spoke.
"You don't seem to know anything, do you?" said Mr. George.
Suddenly, I was confused. What did I need to know? Why did Mr. George's expression look so serious when he said it? "What do you mean, sir?" I asked.
I could see him pulling out some papers, more like receipts. As he handed them to me, I could see the various payments made in my name. Purchases of books, paintings, food, or even drawing tools? Who the hell is doing this? Even the amount can't be said to be small.
"Don't tell me all this has been paid for by Jasper." I spoke. Seeing Mr. George nod made me massage my throbbing forehead; it felt like the weight of my mind was starting to grow again. So, this is what he meant by making me talk back to him?
"To make matters worse, he's arranging thousands of red roses and chocolates that he bought in the park. That's why it's so crowded," Mr. George said.
I want to laugh. Is he holding a charity event for his fans? What is he arranging all those flowers for? "He's organizing a charity event. Good, at least his fans won't abandon him," I said as I returned the receipts to Mr. George.
"A charity events? He put it together for you."
Wait, what? For me? Jasper!!! I thought.
***
Now I was trying to break through the hordes of students who were being herded by the lecturers to return to their respective classes. I tried to break through the crowd of people to see what other stupid things Jasper was doing. The scorching sun makes me a little dizzy. Won't Jasper get burned? He is, after all, a vampire.
"Jasper!" I shouted. I managed to break through, but I couldn't get a better look because a lecturer was holding me back. I could see a series of flowers and chocolates that Mr. George was referring to. Jasper seems to have lost his mind; he's desperate to do this just to get me to talk to him again.
"Jasper Cameron!!!" I shouted again. I could see him turn his head and smile at me. No, this is not the usual smile he gives to his fans. The smile this time was genuine, as if he were indeed happy. For a moment, I was stunned. His smile seemed to dilute my intention to ignore him.
"Rosalie!" he shouted as he pulled me from the crowd and got a good look at the red and brown roses. I seemed to know what he was arranging—the moon. He was making a red moon out of the roses and a red bundle of chocolates as well.
"Isn't it beautiful? Unlike the usual flat-coloured moon, this moon of flowers and chocolates is just like you," he said as he looked at his moon with a proud look.
"Like me? What do you mean?" It seemed like the two of us were giving the lecturers a hard time, as evidenced by several lecturers shouting at us to disperse immediately.
"Beautiful, lovely, sweet, but painful too," he explained as he took my hand and kissed the back. Gosh, do I look like a boiled crab now? How could I be stunned by the words of a vampire?
"Rosalie! Hurry up and pull Jasper away!" annoyed Mr. Kate. I immediately pulled Jasper away from there, but it seemed like he really intended to make a scene.
"Please take the chocolates and roses, everyone," he said with a bright smile.
When I reached one of the other hallways, I let go of the handshake and looked at Jasper with the sharpest stare possible. "Are you crazy? Ah, it looks like you really need a psychologist; do you want me to find the best one?" I quipped.
"I just want to get you to talk to me," he said.
I was really surprised if she was drunk now. "Hey, are you drunk? You just caused a riot on campus and dragged me into all this trouble! You really need to be taken to the doctor," I said as I tried to pull him away.
However, unfortunately, it wasn't him who moved, but me, who was pulled back by him and fell into his arms. In such close proximity, I couldn't hear his heartbeat. Was it because he was a vampire? It's a silly question, but it's not like in the novel, where it's stated that vampires have cold skin. Jasper had warm skin, as if he were an ordinary human.
"It's my way of proving my love for you, Rosalie. Am I wrong to love you?" he said.
What a crazy vampire! I thought.
