This morning—Me and Jasper intended to go to a place Jasper wanted to visit. He didn't tell me where we were going; Jasper said it would make me feel a bit weird and sad. What kind of place did he mean?
I myself was getting ready in my black below-the-knee dress. I was ready to go to Jasper's place when I heard the sound of a car engine in front of the house. I can see Jasper in his casual suit; I admit he is very handsome. But with that genuine smile of his, it made me want to levitate.
"You're very beautiful, Rosalie."
I just blushed as he complimented me. He drove me to the passenger seat of his Lamborghini and then sat in the driver's seat. I don't know why the playboy aura attached to him suddenly disappeared; he didn't even greet his fans on campus anymore.
"This is the first time I've let someone into my car. Not even my own brother," Jasper muttered.
I was a little curious about what he said. So Jasper had a brother? Is he Jasper's biological brother? Or just in the same vampire family. Yeah, I still can't believe I'm sitting next to a vampire, but it's even crazier that I'm dating one.
"You have a sister? Is she very pretty? What's her name?" I asked. I wondered how beautiful Jasper's sister was. In novels, vampires are always depicted as beautiful.
"I admit she's beautiful. However, I think you're more beautiful than her, Rosalie. You're more perfect in my eyes. Her name is Elle, and she looks almost like you. Bookworm, she spends most of her time in her room with a stack of books," Jasper said as he turned his head slightly and then focused on the road again.
Should I hold on to something? Because I feel like flying. Someone, please hold on to me! Ah, so this is what it's like to fall in love with someone. I thought love was only about great sacrifice and pain that couldn't heal.
Apparently, I just found a medicine that can heal all my wounds. "Is she your blood sister? I mean, you know, if I look at most vampire novels..." I hung up my question after realizing that I might be invading his privacy.
I could see Jasper turning to me with a glimpse of his smile, while I just laughed awkwardly. "It's okay; I know you're actually very curious. Isn't that right?" he asked.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you," I retorted.
"It's okay. Elle was bitten by Dad when she was found falling while climbing the mountain. I was his experimental material," Jasper explained.
The experimental material? What does that mean? I really wanted to ask, but I thought I'd let Jasper explain it to me. I didn't want to make him explain more about his race, because honestly, I still wasn't sure if I could handle having a partner like Jasper.
"Is there anything you want to know about me?" I deliberately volunteered in order to change the topic that was making us awkward.
"I want to know everything about you, but only if you want to share your life memories with me," Jasper said with a slight laugh.
I laughed too, because I didn't know where to start when I wanted to tell my messy life story. "Well, actually, I have nothing interesting to tell you. I lost my mother when I was 8 years old, and since then I have been forced to work if I want to survive."
"I saved up the money I earned to get out of the house; I didn't want to live with drug addicts and drunks. My Dad really changed after marrying my mother. It was also because of him that my mother died, and she sacrificed so that my father's jungle collectors wouldn't touch me."
"Actually, there's nothing interesting. Do you seriously want to listen to it?" I asked as I glanced at Jasper, and the look on his face turned serious.
"Why stop? I want to hear everything," Jasper said.
"Okay, don't regret it. I left home using my savings from childhood, and going to the college of my dreams was a stroke of luck for me, so I lived alone," I continued.
I didn't continue my story, but Jasper didn't respond either, which made me regret telling him everything about myself. However, he soon grasped my hand tightly as he stroked the back of my hand.
"I'm proud to have a partner as strong as you, Rosalie. Then you'll be a tough and strong wife, won't you?" He said with a chuckle.
If someone gave me a soundproof room right now, I would scream at the top of my lungs. Wife? How could Jasper say that so easily? Isn't it too soon to call me his wife? Gosh, I feel like flying.
However, just as I was about to respond to his words, I looked out of the car window and found that the surroundings of the road had turned into low trees and many bushes. I wondered a little: where exactly are we?
"Jasper, where are we going exactly?" I'm honestly scared. Does he want to kill me now? After successfully tricking me, gosh, should I run away now?
"Rosalie, I honestly want to take you to my house. To meet my parents and Elle, of course, I'm sure they will accept you quickly," Jasper explained.
His parents? Is he joking right now? I don't want to die yet; how could he bring a human to his vampire family? Or maybe he deliberately brought me so that his family could taste my blood too? Gosh, why is my mind so messed up?
"Jasper, are they going to suck my blood?" What a silly question, but I don't want to die because these silly thoughts go unanswered.
"Of course not, Rosalie. I'll protect you," Jasper said.
After passing through some bushes, I could see a house located near the waterfall. A modern house in the forest? Who would have thought that it really existed? It seems like this house is too big for a vampire to live in. Because, as far as I know, vampires don't sleep or eat.
As Jasper's Lamborghini pulled up right in the yard, Jasper got out first before opening the door for me. My mind began to swirl, voicing thoughts that I thought were completely out of the ordinary. However, it could happen.
Gosh, should I just run away? I'm afraid Jasper can't control his family, I thought.
Upon entering the mansion, I could see a man who was older than Jasper but looked young in the middle of the living room. It was more like an empty room because there was nothing in it at all. I just thought that this room looked more like an execution room.
"Ethan, I told you he was different."
I glanced at the man; he was looking at me very sharply. Until it felt like that gaze could pierce my heart, the cold air made me, as a human, feel very threatened. "She's still human, Jasper."
The baritone voice of the man gave me goosebumps; it seemed like he was Jasper's father. Soon, a woman came out of one of the rooms and kissed the cheek of the man named Ethan. "Ethan, you scared her."
"You must be Rosalie, right? Let me introduce you. I'm Susan, Jasper's mom." I was just about to smile, before frowning again as a beautiful woman in her pajamas and dolls ran towards us with a panicked look on her face.
"There's going to be a war, Jasper. You're found out, she, she'll spell doom for all of us," Elle said, pointing at me.
