"So, I'm part of your family now?" I asked Jasper with a laugh. After the incident that made me panic this morning, I made it home safely. "Ethan, I already convinced you." I laughed again, especially when he spread his arms, asking to be hugged. Jasper is really so adorable; I wonder why he's such a playboy on campus. "So Mr. George knew all along that you were a vampire?" I asked. "Of course, and I think he's sick of me. Because I always follow him around when he feels like he's been in a place too long," Jasper explained. He had let go of the hug but was still holding my hand tightly. "No wonder he let you make so much noise in the library. How annoying," I said, making an annoyed face. Jasper laughed out loud, but I'll be honest, he's really annoying when he's making noise in the library with his million flirts. Soon, he kissed the back of my hand occasionally while stroking it. "Sorry, I just like your body odor. Unlike other humans, who are full of the smell of their blood, I have a different smell," Jasper said. His hands went back to wrapping around my slender waist, bringing my body closer to his and sinking his neck into the crook of my neck. Jasper was really like a child, except for the part where he deliberately bit my neck. "Aw," I whimpered. "Sorry, I can't help it," Jasper said. At first, I thought he wouldn't continue his activities and let go of me like he usually does. However, I don't know what made him look at me with a deep gaze. He pushed me slowly towards the entrance of the house. The door knob slowly opened, and the distance between our faces felt very close. Jasper began to erode the distance until our noses touched. Strangely, I could feel his heartbeat. Or was it my own heartbeat? The soft touch of Jasper's lips swept my vision, and I closed my eyes spontaneously as his lips began to move. This first kiss made me feel addicted, but Jasper deliberately stepped aside and gave me a lopsided smile. "How was it? You look like you're a total like—aw!" I deliberately stomped on his foot very hard so that he wouldn't focus on my face, which looked like a boiled crab. How embarrassing! How could she do such a thing to me? Damn, he's playing with me on purpose, I thought. If I think back about the sensation of the kiss, I feel like my face will turn red again. However, Mary seemed to have misunderstood since the beginning when Jasper said that we were doing a little attraction. You can see from her expression that she was very surprised and did not expect it. "What attraction? Tell me! Gosh, Rosalie, you really fell in love in the end," she said as she continued to lick her ice cream. "It's going to be a long story. Are you really ready, Mary?" Jasper teased. I smacked Jasper on the shoulder and gave him a sharp look. "Don't tease her, Jasper. Mary, listen to me. I'm not doing anything with him," I said as I gently stroked his shoulder. Unfortunately, Jasper is not in the mood. He seemed to be in playboy mode. "We kissed already—AW!" It was just as I was wearing shoes with three-centimeter-high heels. So, it must have hurt more than last night. "Ugh, welcome to Rosalie's world of psychopaths," Mary said with a laugh. I glared fiercely at Jasper before accidentally spotting Mark far back in the crowd walking towards us. I wondered if Jasper hadn't sensed his presence. This thought made me wonder again, with concrete evidence. Ethan told me that he could control chaotic situations and people's minds. It was horrible, but when I asked about Jasper's powers, they all chose to remain silent and told me the same thing over and over again. What powers does Jasper have? Not like Cassandra, who can read someone's mind when confronted with her. Or like Elle, who predicts the future. "Jasper will tell you directly." I wondered why they said that? What's wrong with Jasper's powers? Does he have very strong powers? Or is it a secret that I'm not allowed to know? Realizing that Jasper was getting confused by my brooding, I just smiled when Jasper raised one eyebrow. "Mary, I think I have something to discuss with Jasper. I'm sorry I have to leave you here alone," I said with a sad look on my face. "Ck, it's okay. I'll have a boyfriend someday, too. Alright, then I'll see you in class tomorrow. Don't skip class again," Mary said as she waved her hand and walked away from where Jasper and I were standing. "What's wrong with you?" asked Jasper as he grabbed my hand. I looked into her eyes, those hazel-coloured orbs making me think. What lies was she hiding in those eyes? I wanted to get inside her mind too, to peel away all the past and the pain she had faced for five centuries. "Rosalie, stop. What's wrong with you?" Jasper asked. "Jasper, what's your power?" I asked. I couldn't hold it in anymore. My curiosity had gotten the better of me. I could see he was very surprised when I asked him that, but then he kissed me on the forehead and led me towards the way home. So, there really is something he's hiding from me, I thought. There were no words in the air after he took me home and left me right in front of my yard. "Rosalie, I'm sorry if I can't give you the answers you want," he said as he let go of my hand and disappeared from my sight. I wasn't sad or in the mood to cry. Now all my curiosities have been answered. Jasper did have something he couldn't share with me. Or he didn't even tell his own family. When I went inside, I was a little surprised to see a worn-out shoe perched on my lawn. Especially with a plastic bag containing some alcohol. I almost opened the door knob. When the door was pulled from the inside, I immediately pulled it so that the door could not open. I knew exactly who was behind the door. "Hey! Open the door. You useless kid. Who would have thought that you'd have such a big house by now? Why don't you ever send me money, huh?" That hoarse voice and the distinctive smell of alcohol were, of course, from my father. The person I had been avoiding all this time, and now he knew about my existence. How could he know? Damn it. I had to run. I quickly took off my shoes, removed the door knob, and ran as fast as I could to get away from the house. "You bi*ch! Give me back the money you took!" she shouted. Unfortunately, she managed to grab my hair and make me fall to the street on my back. She took out a knife from her bag and intended to cut my hair. I tried to rebel, but when I realized that Mark was approaching, I tapped my father on the shoulder. That's when I felt my whole world come crashing down again. "I told you that I'd wait for your regrets," he said with a smirk. D*mn, it looks like my end is near, I thought.
