At first, I thought that I would have to face all these thugs alone, just like Mom did. However, somehow, a man was right in front of me. In terms of stature, it certainly wasn't Jasper or any of the Cameron family members; even Zaydan himself wasn't that tall. I wasn't sure if Mark was trying to protect me; after all, he was shorter than Jasper. So, who was this guy in front of me?
"Look, who else is going to protect you? Your mother used to protect you; now she's buried in the ground and has become bones," one of the debt collectors said with a hearty laugh.
"I wonder, are all humans like Rosalie? Apparently not," said the man.
Damn, it was like I heard it from his accent, but I couldn't place it. This isn't it, Niel. Really, everyone, please reset my memory! I seem to have stored so many useless memories that I can't remember this important memory at all.
"Who are you, fat boy? You should have given us money so we wouldn't hurt anyone," the debt collector said.
"Why would I give you money if I could kill all of you in an instant?" he said. Okay, I really wanted to run away while screaming. But it was impossible to do at a time like this.
The next action taken by the man was only silent, but somehow, one by one, the debt collectors fell down with blood coming out of their ears, noses, and eyes. Okay, this is terrible, especially since we are still in the cemetery area. Even though it was quiet during the day, at least it was still a graveyard! I could see Father begging for mercy from the man in front of me.
Meanwhile, I tried to peek at the face of the person who might have pinned me. When the man turned around to show his face, I was shocked. "Brilly?!" I shouted.
Okay, did my entire campus turn out to be filled with vampires? This isn't funny; how could all the people I knew as popular people in school have hidden identities?
"I'm not a vampire like your boyfriend. We're different races," Brilly said.
I blinked my eyes, trying to digest her words. "So, what are you?" I asked spontaneously.
"I'm a demon. It's true that I have a small race, and many people think I'm very evil. However, this is who we are," he said.
Okay, after Vampire, I met the demons, which turned out to be all around me. It's a minus and a plus, but must they all be people I recognize? Why not strangers?
"Did you kill them all?" I asked.
Seeing Brilly shake her head somehow made me a little relieved. Maybe I wasn't so cruel as to want them to become corpses in the blink of an eye. "And then? Why did they all just faint? Or what?" I asked.
"Sort of, they were just hit by a curse. When do they see you again? Then there will automatically be pain that radiates throughout their body, and they end up fainting on the spot. So did that bastard," Brilly said as she pointed at my father.
"He got the curse too." I asked. I felt sorry for him all of a sudden, but this was exactly what I'd been waiting for my whole life.
"Why, that bastard's your father, isn't he? He deserves this," Brilly said.
"How did you know he was my father?" I asked.
"Demons can be quick shadows; the night you were chased and captured by the blue hair, I mean Jasper's brother, I was there, trapped in those shadows," Brilly explained.
"Just tell me if you were following me on purpose. Right?" I asked. Brilly laughed, but now her laughter sounded eviller than ever.
"Not really; it was just a coincidence that I saw you running around like a fool. So, I followed you on purpose," said Brilly. Meanwhile, I laughed again when I recalled the incident.
"It seems like your relationship with Jasper isn't going well. Is someone trying to ruin your relationship?" Brilly asked.
I nodded with a sad face. "Maybe you told him to do it?" I asked.
"Woah, woah. Hold your tongue. Even though I love you to death, Jasper is your soulmate. I wouldn't dare snatch you; there are some demons who are desperate to take someone else's soulmate by killing the soulmate of the woman. But I think they all ended up with an ending we never expected," she explained as she handed me some edelweiss.
"Before, I liked roses. You really like this flower, don't you?" he said. I nodded and took the bouquet. I couldn't believe it. Did Elle really not see that I was in danger?
"What about you? So, who's your soulmate?" I asked.
Brilly laughed too, I was completely unaccustomed to her new tone of laughter that was so creepy and mystical. "We demons don't have soulmates, Rosalie. We live alone," he said.
I gasped, living forever and alone? Ugh, that sounds like a nightmare to me. However, Brilly could only smile as she looked at my face. For a moment, I felt guilty for rejecting her love back then.
"Do demons like you also fight with vampires?" I asked.
Brilly nodded firmly. "We Devils do like to play pranks on humans, giving them a bit of karma and curses. However, we really hate Vampires because they are willing to kill any human or animal to minimize their thirst for blood," Brilly said.
I laughed; it was not a strange fact to me anymore. That's how things really are. Then, Jasper was in the herd. So, I wonder, do all immortals have envy and jealousy in every race?
While walking home with Brilly, I could see Jasper a short distance away from my apartment. Strangely, why didn't he just come straight in? Why did he have to wait outside, even right under the tree? But when I looked again, his eyes were bright red, like he was preparing to fight with Brilly.
"Look at him, I just wanted to get you safely to your destination. Although there is indeed some mode. At least I'm meeting you now. Even if it's only for a moment," said Brily.
Brilly was about to leave. He took back his edelweiss bouquet haphazardly and put it behind her body. It left me confused and trying to digest what had happened.
"Why?" I asked.
"He brought you a bouquet, and I can't let him see the bouquet you received from me," Brilly said.
