Chapter 4

The incident last night was still fresh in Adrianna's mind. As if she was not allowed to forget the painful incident, Adrianna, who was standing in front of the mirror in her room, froze when she saw the traces of her love affair with Theodoric clearly printed on her white skin.

Yesterday Theodoric did not only do it once. He did it many times, attacking Adrianna's slender body until she was exhausted and could only cry softly when Theodoric was not satisfied with touching her body. And now, Adrianna was sure that she could not move normally.

"Adrianna."

Gwen's familiar voice was heard behind her bedroom door. Quickly, Adrianna put on her maid's clothes and went out, trying her best to look okay with the throbbing pain in her thigh area.

"Mr. Theodoric gave an order, you will come with him to a party for his business colleagues," said Gwen when Adrianna had opened the door and stood in front of him.

"Why me?" Adrianna frowned, surprised.

"I have no right to answer your question. You should immediately meet Mr. Theodoric in his room."

Adrianna shuddered in horror. The thought of coming to Theodoric's room, which was a silent witness to their hot lovemaking last night, was truly terrifying. Adrianna didn't know how to avoid Theodoric, because she was sure that Theodoric had various ways to keep her close.

"I'll be there soon," Adrianna finally concluded.

Adrianna's steps felt very heavy. Hell was waiting for her in a dark room with an interior dominated by black and gray. Theodoric was waiting for her with various cruel plans that the man used to hurt her.

"Mr. Theodoric," Adrianna said as Theodoric stood in front of her door. "I..."

"You're five minutes late," Theodoric interrupted while glancing at his watch.

"I'm sorry." That was all that could come out of Adrianna's mouth.

"Tonight's party is an important party for me. Don't embarrass me," Theodoric said

"Of course, sir."

Adrianna hated herself for never being able to fight anything Theodoric said. Every time Theodoric gave her an order, Adrianna automatically had to bow and obey whatever he wanted.

“Get in. Someone will dress you up.”

The long dark green dress fit Adrianna’s slender body perfectly. The front was V-shaped, showing off her defined neckline and making her body even sexier.

“At least you still look like the honorable Harper Family,” Theodoric said as he saw Adrianna’s final appearance.

“Do I look bad?” Adrianna’s eyes looked worried as she stared at Theodoric, asking for his opinion.

“Very bad,” Theodoric replied, Adrianna’s face growing more worried. “Your body is too thin. Are you too poor to take care of yourself?”

Theodoric's question made Adrianna completely silent. She was indeed too poor to take care of her body, and Adrianna agreed with Theodoric in her heart.

“Hurry up. We’re going to be late.”

The luxury car took Theodoric and Adrianna to a luxury hotel located in the city center. When Theodoric said that the party was a very grand party, Adrianna could believe his words completely. The party was indeed an extraordinarily grand party.

"What should I do inside?" That question was asked by Adrianna before they both got out of Theodoric's luxury car together.

"Be quiet and don't say anything unless I tell you to speak," Theodoric replied.

The last time Adrianna faced a party, Theodoric humiliated her sadistically. This time, Adrianna could predict that Theodoric would do the same thing. Because there was no way Theodoric would invite her to an important party without a specific purpose.

“Theodoric Adams! Amazing, you came to your rival’s party.”

A man with an athletic body and a slightly oriental face approached Theodoric and Adrianna who had just entered the main lobby. Theodoric smiled, while Adrianna moved restlessly behind the man.

“Who is this beautiful girl, Theo?” The man with clear glasses asked, glancing at Adrianna.

“She’s your patient’s older sister,” Theodoric answered.

Not only was the foreign man surprised, but Adrianna was too. Adrianna immediately turned to Theodoric, trying to ask for an explanation of what he said a moment ago.

“You are Beatrice’s older sister?”

“That’s right. Are you the doctor who treated Beatrice?” Adrianna answered immediately, without caring about Theodoric who gave her a warning look.

“I’m Eliot, the doctor who treated your younger sister.” The man named Eliot extended his hand to Adrianna which she immediately took.

“How was Beatrice’s surgery? Is she okay?”

Adrianna was too worried about her little sister that she didn’t realize that Theodoric was staring at her as if he wanted to kill her. It seemed like Theodoric didn’t like seeing Adrianna interacting with other men.

“Nice to meet you, Eliot. But it seems like I have to meet some of my other business partners,” Theodoric said, then he grabbed Adrianna’s waist and led her away leaving Eliot who was still standing anxiously in his original place.

When Adrianna turned to Eliot, she knew that there was something important that dr. Eliot wanted to tell her. And Adrianna had to find a way to talk to dr. Eliot without Theodoric knowing.

“It seems like Theodoric is very possessive of you.”

Adrianna, who was drinking orange juice, choked when Eliot suddenly came towards her. With a worried look, Adrianna glanced at Theodoric several times who was now talking to his business partners.

“I don’t have much time,” Adrianna said. “I want to know how my little sister is doing. Was the surgery successful? Is she okay.”

“Your little sister is lacking blood. The hospital tried to find a blood donor, but we…”

“I told you not to talk to anyone, Adrianna.”

Eliot’s explanation was immediately interrupted when Theodoric came and interrupted their conversation. Theodoric stared sharply at Adrianna who was currently still staring at Eliot with a worried face. It seemed that Adrianna didn’t care about Theodoric’s anger. The only thing she cared about was her little sister’s.

“Adrianna just asked me about her little sister,” Eliot said when he realized Theodoric looked angry.

“I didn’t ask you, Eliot. I was talking to my little b***h who started to dare to fight me,” Theodoric replied.

“Please let me talk to dr. Eliot for a moment. I promise it won’t be long.” Adrianna looked at Theodoric pleadingly.

Theodoric didn’t care at all. He just didn’t like Adrianna interacting with other people as if her self-esteem had returned and made her brave. Theodoric wanted Adrianna to keep her head down, feeling humiliated because of her past mistakes so she didn’t dare to talk to anyone.

However, deep inside, Theodoric felt something else. He just didn't like Adrianna talking to men other than him.

"Let's go home." Theodoric immediately pulled Adrianna's hand, making her jump.

"Just a moment, please," Adrianna begged with teary eyes.

"Don't make me angrier, Adrianna." Theodoric pulled Adrianna's body closer to him.

Tears streamed down Adrianna's face as Theodoric forced her out of the luxury hotel and took away her chance to talk to Eliot about Beatrice's condition. It turned out that what happened tonight was much more painful than when Theodoric humiliated her, or when the man forced her to make love.
