Chapter 2: Cheating B*stard!

(Ashley POV)

“Good morning,” I said while putting my plate on the table, but Jack didn’t pay any attention to me. I pulled a chair and took a seat beside him.

“I will join you on the training ground today. We didn’t spar last week, and I want to polish my combat skills,” I informed him in a cheery tone, but his cold behavior was really making me feel sad.

“Jack! I am ready,” A cheery voice came, and I controlled myself before I smashed my plate on her head.

“Perfect! I would love to train you today.” Jack announced loudly, and I gritted my teeth in anger. I know Kathy was doing all this on purpose, but I wasn’t someone who would accept defeat after witnessing her little tricks.

“Jack! Wait for me… I am also…” Before I could finish my words, he left the pack house with her little darling sister, and I kicked the chair hard. I quickly left my unfinished plate in the sink and changed my clothes to join them on the training ground.

“You really have no shame, Ashley. As an Alpha’s daughter, you should have some dignity, no?” Kathy taunted me when I left my things on the table where everyone left their bags and water bottles. Our training ground was not some kind of modern gym because my father believed that we were werewolves and we should train like ancient samurai soldiers… not in the literal way, but we should have the same strength. So, most of our focus was on hand-to-hand sparring and combat skills. We also have a big gym where our soldiers train, but I love the adrenaline that I get during hand-to-hand combat.

“Whoa! Am I daydreaming or are you really here after a week, Ash?” Noah, the gemma of our pack, asked, and I gave him a sheepish smile. Jack frowned after looking at his face and then focused on Kathy.

“Jealous? Is he jealous? Well, I think I found the way to break his cold demeanor,” I thought, and I bright smile appeared on my face.

“Yeah! I came here to train with Jack, but he seems busy, so will you train with me today?” I gave a generous offer, and his face lit up. I know, he likes me, and I felt a bit bad for using him this way, but at the end of the day, everything is fair in love and war.

“Sure! Why not? I would love…”

“No need, Noah! I have already taught Kathy, and I can train Ashley as well. Focus on your own training.” Before Noah could finish his sentence, Jack interrupted him, and a smile crept onto my lips, but I quickly masked it. I should have used this trick on him before all the fuss, but no worries… I know how to control him from now on.

“Here! Repeat these moves,” He said to Kathy and walked towards my mat. I quickly finished my stretching routine and started training with him. Noah moved towards another soldier, but I noticed how his smile dimmed after getting an order from Jack.

“What are you doing now?” Jack asked Kathy, who was sitting in the lounge with her books.

“Nothing! I am just trying to solve this sum, and I think everyone is right… I am just plain dumb,” I was coming downstairs to make a glass of chocolate milkshake for myself, but her words stopped me in my tracks. This girl never grew tired of all this drama… not even for a second.

“Kathy! I have already told you that you are not dumb. You are hardworking, so just practice more, and then all these sums will become easy for you,” Jack quickly corrected her and started teaching her. Her innocent girl drama spoiled my mood, so I dropped the idea of the milkshake and returned to my room with a jealous heart.

“No need to worry about anything, Ashley. You are the best, and you have to stop letting her spoil your mood,” Diana tried to cheer me up, but I gave her a sad smile. I was about to turn 18th in just a few minutes, so I was getting ready for my first shift.

“You are right! I will meet my wolf for the first time, and I shouldn’t focus on that b*tch,” I said to her and then hugged her before leaving my house because last year, one male wolf damaged half of the antics of our pack house, so my father made a rule that we have to experience our first shift in the woods. That’s why I changed my clothes, and my mom packed a bag of clothes for me because I would tear them apart, but after turning to my human form, I don’t want to come to the pack house n*ked.

“Be brave, Ashley! You are an alpha’s daughter, and you can handle all this on your own,” I gave myself a much-needed pep talk when the clock struck twelve. A wave of pain shot through me, and I fell on my knees. In just a few minutes, I was standing in my wolf form, which was white with inky blue eyes. I ran for a few minutes before turning back to my human form. I picked up the tee and shorts when I noticed the most delicious scent in the world. I quickly dressed and walked towards that scent.

“Jack!” I called his name, who was present near the lake where he usually goes when he feels alone.

“Ashley!” He quickly stood up and almost ran towards me. A smile crept on my lips when his eyes changed color and he growled, ‘Mate’.

“I can’t believe the Moon Goddess blessed me with you,” He said and pressed his lips on mine. My heart fluttered with happiness, and I deepened the kiss. I finally got my mate and my love in just a few moments.

“I will cherish you my whole life,” He promised me, and I believed him with my whole heart. I still can’t believe that I finally got his love. Let’s go home,” He said, and we came back to our pack house, but he asked me to disclose this information tomorrow, on the evening of my 18th birthday, and I agreed.

“Let’s go for another run, Ashley!” My wolf Silver urged me, and I agreed even though it was the middle of the night. I slowly sneaked out of the pack house and walked towards the woods when I heard giggling and laughter sounds, but it sounded familiar. I slowly walked towards the bench near the lake where I kissed Jack just an hour ago.

“I have never thought that it would be so easy to fool her,” I heard the feminine voice and gulped hard.

“Kathy! I only love you and will never look towards another girl like this,” I heard Jack’s words, and I felt like someone stabbed my heart with a silver knife.

“Then f*ck me… f*ck me like you want, babe,” Kathy’s seductive voice made my heart bleed.

“F*ck! I love to hear your moans,” Jack said and kissed her hard. My feet were glued to the ground in grief. This man promised to cherish me forever just an hour ago, and now he was making out with her so-called sister. How big of a hypocrite he can be!

“Wow! So, is this how you decided to show your loyalty to me?” I walked towards them, and my voice startled them.

“Ashley! What are you doing here?” Jack asked, and Kathy quickly straightened her clothes.

“A-ash! We were discussing you,” Kathy quickly explained.

“Oh really! How? By kissing my mate behind my back, hmm?” I asked, and tears welled up in her eyes.

“N-no! It isn’t what it looks like,” she answered.

“No need to explain… I didn’t expect much from a wh*re like you,” I answered and she sobbed after hearing my remark.

“Ash!!! You can’t talk to her like that,” Jack stopped me like my words literally hurt him instead of Kathy.

“Jack! You are raising your voice on me for her… for a sl*t like her,” I pointed my finger towards her when Kathy sobbed again.

“You are taking it all wrong, Ashley. We were just talking about you… nothing else. Jack is still my brother,” She sobbed, and I felt like killing her with my bare hands.

“Yes! You are just trying to break ties with me by throwing filth at us. Even though I accepted you as my mate, you are still not trusting me. You disappointed me…” Before he could complete his sentence, I stepped towards him and slapped him hard on his face.

“Shut the f*ck up, Jack! Do you think I am blind or a complete i***t? I caught you red-handed but you still dare to deny everything… Be a man and accept what you did,” I said and he looked at me with shock and anger, like he didn’t expect me to slap him.

“I, Ashley Blackwood, daughter of Alpha Ronan Blackwood and future Alpha of Blue Moon Pack, reject you as my mate,” A lone tear rolled down my cheek, and he clenched his fists in anger after hearing my words.

“I, Jack David, Beta of the Blue Moon Pack, accept your rejection,” He said, and both of us fell on our knees when the mate bond broke between us. I felt like someone cut my heart open with a silver knife.

“You will regret this, Ashley! You will beg me to take you back but I will not,” Jack said through pain and I shook my head in no.

“I will never take back a cheating bastard like you. Enjoy your life with your dear Kathy,” Kathy glared at me but then quickly helped Jack when I blacked out with pain.

“Ash…Ashley! Can you hear me?” I heard Silver’s voice and looked around. Jack and Kathy weren’t present beside me. I finally got up and anger filled my heart. Both of them left me there like some orphan. F*cking fuckers!!! I cursed them under my breath before walking towards the pack house. By the time I entered the pack house, I was fuming with anger and headed straight to my room. I was about to go upstairs when David, my dad’s beta, stormed out of his office with so much anger that it made me stop in my tracks.

He looked towards me, and there was something present in his eyes that made me shiver with fear. He didn’t stop there and left the pack house. But, I was so angry at Jack that I didn’t dare to investigate the reason behind his anger. Maybe Jack had already told him about my rejection. I quickly walked towards my room to cry my heart out at the loss of my first love.
