After Eve left her group, she headed to where she needed to buy wax, buttons, and all the items her father would need. She'd made a mental list as she didn't need a physical one. She knew the things her father would need; she used to come with him all the time when she was younger, so it should be easy for her.
As she walked in the busy streets, she couldn't help but notice how people kept gossiping about what had taken place a few minutes ago. As they spoke, she came to realize just how much the witches were hated, it also made her wonder if it was her who was tied in the middle of the town and about to be burnt, would her town's people support and fight for her. As far as she knew, she had a really good relationship with all the people she knew, and they were nice to her too, so she hoped they wouldn't, but deep down she knew she was so wrong. It didn't matter to the humans who the person was, as long as you didn't fit into their category of right, they wouldn't think twice to turn against you, following the herd without knowing the full story or if the person was wrongly accused. One person screams witch over a suspicious cough, and they were already carrying pitchforks and fire, ready to burn down the witch and convince themselves they were doing the right thing. She rolled her eyes, humans were such fickle and shallow-minded creatures.
Of course, she didn't think the witches were right in killing people, hell she didn't think it was right to kill anyone, but she believed they deserved to be heard and given a chance. After all, there were some witches who would love to live a normal life, but the humans won't give them a chance. The bad witches had created enough fear in the hearts of the people that they didn't want to even smell the witches. Every kind had both good and bad, including the very humans who claimed to be righteous. She didn't see anyone who carried fire when a human was caught stealing, but if it were a witch, they didn't need to steal, existing apparently is enough reason to be killed. She sighed, people hated what they don't understand, and lives were lost because of this. She pitied the witches who were at the receiving ends, well not all of them, as she couldn't forget about the innocent lives they took too. No one had the right to decide when a person's life should end. She wished she had the powers to change things, but then the same humans she was trying to save would turn against her and have her killed before she even had the chance to change anything. The only thing she would change in the world was erasing her very own existence.
