Reunited

I spent the next two years working the land and trying to forget about Avery. I’d gotten in the rhythm of rotating my fields to have food growing for every season. I tended the few animals I kept and as the noon sun rose high I exhaled moving into the house. I made a quick sandwich for lunch and ate at the table. The sound of bleating caught my ear. I went rigid listening to the sounds around the house. I knew the cry was my goat Midas. It was an alert that a predator was near here. I grabbed my long blade before putting my cloak on the hood up as I exited the back door silently moving around the barn. The sound of something heavy being slammed into a storage barrel made me hesitate. The unmistakable noise of savage growling stopped me cold. I peered around the edge seeing two massive wolves snapping and lunging at each other. The larger wolf was black furred and clearly winning as he pinned the smaller gray wolf down biting at its throat. The wolf released a painful cry before running away yipping. I watched nervously as the black wolf shuddered falling to the ground. His body began to contort and shifted. I was stunned seeing the naked form of a very familiar man lying panting in the dirt. He was groaning and when I saw blood I set the blade down moving fast to his side. I knelt down looking him over. I had been aching to see him again these last two years but not like this. There was a savage wound at his waist and another at his thigh. “Little Lamb,” he exhaled as his face contorted with pain. “Avery, are you ok? Can you stand enough to get inside so I can treat your wounds?” I asked anxiously. “Do you have meat?” He growled as he tried to move to sit up. “Yes, just stay still,” I said firmly. He smirked but gave a nod lying back, breathing slower at the very least. I went to my feet moving inside fast. I pulled out some carved meat and grabbed a rag, tearing it in two before moving back out to him. He was still lying down when I came to kneel at his side. He blinked weary eyes up at me. I held out a chunk of meat to his lips and he bit swiftly chewing. I placed the rest in my lap as I moved to his thigh wound wrapping the torn cloth around him tying it off. He winced and his body jerked. I fought to ignore his growing arousal so near my hand. It was a losing battle. I’d been aching to touch him since the day at the lake. My eyes kept drifting to it curiously as I worked. “More meat,” he growled. I handed him another chunk which he snapped at eagerly. “Turn to your side,” I instructed. He rolled a bit to his hip, which only served to have his manhood lay on my thighs. My body stiffened and I bit my lip. So many nights I dreamt of him sliding his hard c**k into my aching p***y. To have him this close was maddening but he was hurt so I fought to focus. He lifted his arm allowing me to press the second cloth into the wound at his waist. He grunted in pain exhaling hard. “Sorry.” “Meat,” he said in an almost whisper. My lips tugged. He reminded me of a sleepy child still insisting on finishing a bottle. I grabbed the last of the meat but in doing so my hand brushed the tip of him lightly. He rumbled a noise similar to a cat’s purr. I jerked my hand away offering him the meat which he chewed lazily. I drew back the cloth seeing his bleeding slow as muscle knitted beneath my gaze. “I need to sleep to heal Scarlett, is it ok for me to crash on your couch for a bit?”’ I appreciated how even though he knew my curse he would ask instead of ordering me. I noticed it even during our last encounter and couldn’t seem to get him out of my mind. I got to my feet holding a hand out to him looking only at this chest. He took it moving to his feet a bit shaky. I wrapped my arm around his waist focusing on getting him inside and safely to the couch. I lowered him down mindful of his healing wounds. “Rest Avery,” I murmured, lifting a throw blanket from the end of the couch draping it over him gently. I shifted to move and he caught my wrist. “Scarlett,” he breathed, “stay with me.” The command left his lips and I groaned, dropping to my knees knowing I couldn’t leave his side now even if I wanted to. Oddly, I found myself not wanting to. His breathing shifted deeper into sleep. I ducked my head to the couch falling asleep beside him.
