*Blades POV*

“BLADE O’CONNER WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?” Sophia yelled as she walked through the house mad at the news that James just told him.

“What mom?” He called from the office where he sat working. She barged in the door and if looks could kill she would’ve murdered him. 

“What did you say to her?” She asked me angrily as I worked.

“I said that she could leave, that she didn’t have to be here anymore. It’s what she wanted” I said and before I could look up my mothers hand went across my face. 

“What was that for?” I asked her angrily 

“Being a jackass” she said as she stormed out. 

I did the right thing. Now I’m not distracted and she can’t get hurt. I will focus more on the protection of my people then only protecting one person. As I went back to work and fought the pain the door opened again. 

“What now?” I asked as I looked up. 

“Well son let’s see, your fine and happy one moment and kicking the girl out the next. I’m just curious as to what happened” Christopher said to Blade as he looked at how defeated his son looked as he was slouched at his desk forcing himself to stay busy. 

“Dad. I’m a good leader, I’m a great leader.  Because I’m focused nothing takes my focus off the job. I let my focus leave me. I didn’t even call my team last night to let them know about my change in arrival time. I wasn’t watching the cameras today. We could’ve been more prepared if I had been doing my job correctly.”  I said as I looked up at him and only saw disappointment in his eyes. 

“Having someone you care about won’t make you a bad leader. It will make you sharper. You will have more responsibility but you learn to balance it. You haven’t known the girl long so if you honestly don’t care then fine. But if you do then you better fix what you messed up.” He said as he walked out. I just sat there and thought back a few nights to when she first arrived and the way I felt when she passed out into my arms and the way we kissed earlier today and how happy I was after being with her. I might’ve made a mistake but I need to seriously think about what I want before I decide anything. 

*Rains POV*

I just met him. How am I so sad. It’s only been a couple days but I’m sad. I know not to get attached to people. I guess I will stay in the hotel for the night just because I have no other option. And then the phone starts ringing.  

“Hello” I say as I pick up the phone 

“Hello sweetheart” I hear and it’s him. I would know that voice anywhere. It’s the man who kidn*pped me. So I slammed the phone down and called Christopher’s phone and told him where I was going. He tried to convince me to stay put until he could get here but I left anyways. 

*Blades POV* 

“Just stay there until I can get there” Blade heard Christopher day into the phone. “It’s not safe for you to leave alone” 

Blade opened the door the rest of the way and asked his father what was happening. 

“Well son that was Rain the man who kidn*pped her has been watching her and just called the hotel I had James take her to” And in that moment in knew I had f****d up and that she is now gone because of me. 

“Aghhhhh” Blade screamed as loud as he could and then punches the first wall in sight as he realized what he has done.

“Where is she?” After he told me the hotel that he sent her to I jumped into my car and took off driving as fast as I could there. I told all the guys to meet James and head the same way. As I’m driving I see her walking down the small back road behind the hotel and I drive up fast and tell her to get in the car. 

“No ass hole. I will not get in a car with you” she said as she continued stomping down the street. James and the guys pulled up at the end of the road boxing her in and she looked at them and rudely said “move out of my way” 

“Rain get in the car, either car just pick one and get in” James said trying to help get her to safety. 

Rain then looked around and gave me a dirty look before getting into the car with James. As they sped off I got out of my car and in a mad rage started punching the brick walls time after time with both fists until they were both bloody and torn up. 

*Rains POV*

I got in James’s car because Blade didn’t want me around anymore. After I was happy to be there with him. He didn’t want me anymore. As we pulled up to the house I expected him to be right behind us but he wasn’t. I get out of the car and there Christopher was waiting for me to walk up. As soon as I got close the door flung open and there was Sophia. 

“My dear we were so worried” Christopher said as they pulled me into the house. “What did he say over the phone?” He asked 

“Well he told me that he will not stop tracking me and planning our wedding until he gets me.” I said sadly “so I need to get away far away” 

All of the guys look at me as well as Blades parents. Everyone knowing the exact same thing that Blade didn’t mean it when he said he wanted me to leave. Then we hear the door fling open and shut and there he stands with both of his hands dripping blood into the floor just starring at me. 

“Upstairs now” I demand and everyone in the room even Blade looks at me shocked. But as I started walking up the stairs I heard Blade follow and his mom say “she is good” and his dad chuckled. 

As we climb up the stairs I feel my blood boil. I haven’t known him long but I feel betrayed by the way he made me leave and it was about to be known. We get to his room and I slam the door shut. 

“You wanted me to leave so damn bad and then when I go you come after me like you care” explain yourself 

“Rain I do care, I care a lot. I thought caring would make me week. But I realized that it makes me stronger” 

“ so I’m supposed to stay here and act like it didn’t happen and pretend I belong here even when I don’t. And set and wait for that man to kidnap me and force me to marry him all because you get mad at something and throw me out again” I said that and then looked at his face and I could tell he was hurt and angry but so am I so I don’t give it. 

“Then marry me” he shouted and I just started at him for a moment. 

“What?” I said because I thought I heard that so wrong. 

“Marry me, then he can’t take you because you are married. I know now I made my mistake and I don’t plan to make it again. Just marry me and he won’t be able to take you because we will make it public even world wide news and nobody would ever even look at you wrong again.” 

“I’m not marrying you just for my protection” I said drawn back because I would marry him because our connection was so strong I don’t want to give it up and with that chance it could grow, but not just for him to protect me he has to feel it to. He walked straight up to me and kissed me. And there is was again that amazing feeling.

“Marry me because I know you felt that too” he said as he pulls away.

“Ok” I said as I put out lips back together. And with that the door flings open and a women walks in  

“What the hell is going on here” she said, 

“Alea” Blade said “I thought you were out of the country” 

“I was until I heard about her and had to see it first hand, glad I did come because now I’ll have a new sister” 

Sister I thought in my head. Oh s**t Blade has a sister. Who just heard everything we said 

“MOM BLADE JUST GOT ENGAGED” Alea yelled and with that we heard several people coming upstairs and his mom busts in the door first and she seems mad she walks straight up to Blade and smacks him. And then straight up to me and hugs me. Christopher stands in the doorway next to James who simply says “I told you so” and laughs
