But of course, Ivar already knew these things about Candace. He knew that her birthday was June tenth, he knew she was twenty-two years old and about to turn twenty-three he even knew about her pinky toe she lost to frostbite that day she fell through the lake. You see... after their encounter, Ivar was completely enthralled by her, he tried keeping her off his mind with work, golf which he loved to play on the weekends-he started to indulge in every day in order to take her off his mind. For he knew of his obsessive impulses, Ivar was just that kind of man if he found something he liked enough he would let it completely take over him,he knew this, so he tried his best to curb this growing impulse he felt in his chest from the moment he met her- You see this was not the first time Ivar had this feeling in his chest. As a young man in his early twenties, Ivar had met a girl, her name was Victoria, she was the reincarnation of Frejya herself, beautiful beyond measure, she was the love of his life. He had planned their entire life together, when he found out they were going to be parents he was absolutely elated; he read every parenting book he could find, he even learned swadling techniques. Ivar was completely infatuated with this new prospective family of his own. It was raining that night, Victoria woke me up. She was hysterical and covered in blood from her waist down,I lifted her beautiful fragile body into my arms and carried her to the car as fast as I could, Victoria was wailing in pain and crying out for our baby, our beautiful baby girl-I drove to the hospital as far as I could, It was wet and slippery but with my family's life on the line I knew I had to get them to the hospital quickly and safely. A white truck came speeding towards me right in the center of the bridge .For a second the world froze..I saw the raindrops hold still it was an erie silence and still , almost like time stopped at least I believe it did for me because in that moment a part of my sould died. I only noticed its bright lights when it was far too late Victoria looked at me with those beautiful eyes-she was scared but her eye were full of love and trust in me in that moment...I can't believe I failed her.. my only memory after that was bright siren lights and ambulance sirens Victoria next to me covered in blood and breathless I frantically called out her name..hoping for any type of movement a twitch of her closed eyelids the ris and fall or her chest I so earnestly loved to watch when she slept a slither of hope and outstretched hand toward me as she would always do on our car ride but nothing.. A man pulled me out the car after prying the door of the driver's seat open- I shouted for him to check on Victoria and our child he asked me to relax and for the first time in my life I couldn't control my emotions I had never felt so weak and hopeless, I was unable to protect the people I loved most I couldn't see her from where the paramedic had laid me, I continued to call out her name frantically the paramedic warned me straining myself anymore mentally would cause my body to fail -I didn't believe him there's no way my body would fail me when I needed it now more than ever I woke up blinded by hospital lights and Lara beside me she grabbed my hand and gave me a reassuring smile, she knew what I would ask next and she quickly went to get the nurse avoiding my pleading gaze for an answer I heard them whispering outside the door debating whether to tell me or not. That's when I knew..Victoria was gone both of them were, my sweet child and my beautiful Victoria.
