Date Night

*Axel's POV* "I love you, Aimee. I know we haven't known each other long, and yes we're mates, but it's more than that. You complete me." I put my nose in the nape of her neck, she smelled like honey and mango and maybe a hint of tajin. I was a simp, in heaven, marked by the person who mattered most to me. How I ever lived without her, I'll never know. I was just thankful that I had her now, and I have no intention of ever letting go. I could feel her lips curl into a smile. My heart burst with joy, and part of me was completely annoyed at that fact. The other part of me wished this moment would never end. I knew I had to leave tomorrow afternoon to meet with the Elders. I didn't have anything else to do as the big bad Alpha. I mind-linked Mike to get a picnic together to surprise my love. He taunted me for being a simping puppy. Maybe I should've just asked Cami to do it. *Aimee's POV* "I have a surprise for you, love" Axel looked so excited. It was really sweet how much effort he put into this. My family didn't even put that much effort into me. They sent me off to a pack to help them out, never reached out, never made an effort to see what I was up to, and never came to see me. Maybe if they would've put in a little effort, I wouldn't have ended up being used and abused. Maybe I would feel worthy of having an Alpha as a mate. Axel led me up several flights of stairs before finally opening a door that opened to the mountaintop. The sun was getting ready to set over the red mountains. The blues, purples, and pinks from the sun complimented everything. Axel had someone set up a picnic blanket with fancy finger sandwiches, fruits, veggies, and a bottle of bubbly. It was beyond the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me. "Since I have to leave tomorrow, I wanted us to have some us time," he hesitated. "So much has happened in such a short time." "A week ago, I didn't even have a room, and now..." "You're my Luna and you have everything" "Axel, I don't know the first thing about being a Luna to any pack." "Sure you do," I gave Axel a look and he smiled back, "you understand what it feels like to not be wanted in a pack. You also make people feel welcome and at ease. You're kind despite everything you've been through. People are genuinely excited to meet you." "They are?" "Yes, love. I'm happy to prove it to you too. I'll clear my schedule tomorrow, and I'll give you a full tour- I bet more people come up and speak to you than they do to me. They genuinely want to meet you. I'll be chopped liver at best." I rolled my eyes and sit back to enjoy the view. The landscape was breathtaking, and Axel wasn't a bad addition to the view either. Maybe one day I really will feel like I belong here like I'm worthy of being Ax's Luna. But for now, I'm coming around to having a mate and adjusting. It's weird because despite what I know from others, I trust him. He's sincere with his words and his actions. Axel is thoughtful and considerate. I'd even venture to say kind. I've marked him as mine out of lust, but he hasn't marked me yet. Did he know deep down that I wasn't good enough for him? "Let's go then," I challenged him. Surely as Alpha, he'll be the one people want to talk to. He grinned widely at me. "It's a date" I blushed like a young schoolgirl. I had never been on a date before. Prism smiled a sinister smile and laughed in amusement at my thoughts. You do realize that you're on a date now, right? Like tomorrow is not your first date. This one is. I rolled my eyes at her. Well, yes, obviously this was a date. And you know how dates normally end for wolves, right? Wolves are very sensual creatures. They're very physical and very possessive. Most wolves don't even date, they jump right into a relationship with s*x. I mean Axel and I had, the mate bond had taken over, and we... I blushed again as the thoughts of earlier today jumped into my head. I'll leave you with your thoughts Bitch, I thought to her. Axel put his hand on mine. I never realized how much larger his hand was. I mean Alphas are huge, it's just their nature. As an Alpha's daughter, I had a commanding presence before I was with Moon River. But I was never big like an Alpha was supposed to be. Axel was large like an Alpha was supposed to be, but he wasn't menacing like some. Maybe that was the mate bond. I glanced at his piercing eyes, and my heart fluttered. "I love you, Aimee" *Axel's POV* She's been lost in her own thoughts for a while now. Watching her watch the sunset was a sight that I wouldn't change for anything in the world. Okay, maybe I'd trade it for watching her blush. Maybe you'd trade it to see her naked on top of you again too, Blade teased.
