Things didn’t get any better for Matt the next day, as he worked one-on-one with the athletic trainer on the ice for a little over an hour. Every part of his shoulder, hip, and back ached. His injuries should be hurting less and the muscles getting stronger, but he knew that wasn’t going to happen.
Brownie knew this, too. After their workout, he waved Matt into Coach Walker’s office.
The miserable hangover he was nursing this morning didn’t make things any better. After Maddy accused him of running to the bottle, he did just that. Luckily the locker room was empty. Practice was cancelled today so the guys could rest up before traveling.
