CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVENMadison Madison returned to work the next day. Her stomach had been a mess for the last couple of days, full of knots. Her heart was torn between wanting to forgive Matt and still being disappointed in him. “So, is my man groveling for your forgiveness yet?” Bryan asked, breaking into her thoughts. “Bryan, do you think this is funny? This isn’t some fraternity prank.” Matt was groveling, and he was good at it. But flashing his money around by buying her expensive things wasn’t the way to go. However, the cupcakes were very thoughtful, and it showed he had been listening to her all this time. He had been paying attention, even when she hadn’t realized he was. That was a good quality in a man. But it still didn’t make up for his actions. How could she trust him now?
