“when life gives you lemons, trade them for limes; they go better with tequila”

The music was banging, alcohol was pumping in my veins. The night was just getting started and we were all looking forward to it.
“Next round on me,” Ida shouted as we raised our shot glasses, we all cheered and downed the shot.
“This isn't all that terrible.” Skye admitted with a little smile. She was dressed in a loose marine blue dress with some black high heels. The dress complimented her eyes perfectly, it made those amber eyes shine even brighter and the blue/brown combination of eyeshadow helped complete it all.
“See, I told you so,” I teased and hugged her from the side. My anxiety about touching people weren't a thing when I had alcohol in my blood, I could do everything and I felt free.
Ida was the odd-one out seeing as she had on some tight black pants with a low-ridden dark green shirt. Even without doing as much out of herself, she still managed to look beautiful as hell. I was officially jealous of her.
Kaitlyn was dressed in a black dress who hugged around her breasts and were loose from the waist down. It had lace on the sleeves and it went perfect with her red hair. She looked beautiful as ever, it was hard to believe that she was single.
And I, apple on the bottom. I had a bordeaux-red coloured dress on, it was low-ridden as Ida's shirt and it hugged my curves all the right places. I really didn't like dressing as this, but Kaitlyn was great at persuading me into it so I just went with it. And to be completely honest, I liked the looks I got from the men.
Two hours after we were all s**t-face drunk. even innocent little Skye. She hadn't had as much as us, but she was totally gone. No more innocent Skye, she had the confidence of all 3 Mean Girls in 1 and right now she was giving a lap dance to a guy who looked at her, like she was a prey.
“Alright, who's going in to save her?” Ida asked from beside me. Both Kaitlyn and I looked at her like she was stupid, making her sigh and say, “I guess it's my turn then.”
Kaitlyn poked me in the side and pointed to some guys who just came in, “They are looking gooood.” she drawled. I rolled my eyes at her and shook my head, not even looking in the direction as I looked after Ida and Skye. She hadn't had the best of luck getting Skye away from there, who now was whining as Ida tugged her along.
“But I was having fun,” she pouted as a little child. Note to self: Skye is like a child when drunk. Check. I quickly snapped a picture of her pouting, reminding myself to show it to her when we came to work on Monday.
“I'm going over to the hot guys, Saf.” Kaitlyn informed me and made her way through the crowd, this time I decided to look after her and saw the hot guys she was talking about.
“s**t Ida, Jackson and Matthew are here.” All the drunk-ness I had just felt, completely disappeared from my mind and body. She squinted her eyes to look in the direction I had been looking in, and gulped visible.
“f**k, what do we do with the child here?” She motioned towards Skye, “I doubt she wants the bosses to see her like this.” I looked around without any reason, we couldn't just dump her somewhere and we didn't want to go home.
“Let's order a round of shots and go to another club.” I requested while nodding at my own words, it sounded like a good plan.
“I'm taking Skye outside with me, you grab Kaitlyn. I told Jackson we were just seeing a movie in your apartment,” Ida said scratching the back of her neck, I nodded in agreement and made my way towards the bosses and Kaitlyn. She had her arms around Matthew and I felt something bubbling in my stomach, but I wasn't sure what it could be.
“A round of shots for four,” I mumbled to the bartender when a hand landed on my shoulder. I turned around to stare directly into a black t-shirt.
“What do you say, honey? Your home or in the bathroom?” I shook the disgust of me at his gross pickup line, clearly meaning s*x.
“How about no?” I chimed with a fake smile and turned around to grab the four shots, when his hand came to grab my thigh.
“Aw come on babe?” he whispered into my ear as his hand traveled further up my thigh. I stomped on his foot which he reacted to by retracting his hand from my thigh, to instead grabbing my arm, twirling me around and sneering in my face,
“You shouldn't have done that.” He grabbed on harder and tried to pull me along with him, but before I knew of it his grip become loose as he hit the floor, almost pulling me down with him if it wasn't because someone caught me.
“Learn to respect women,” Matthew spat at the man on the ground. He looked at me, studying my face and arm to make sure the man didn't hurt me, before asking if I was okay. I groaned annoyed, pushing his arms away from me.
“I'm fine Matthew. Now if you will excuse me, come on Kaitlyn.” I said and called for Kaitlyn like she was my dog. She came over to me with her mouth gaping open,
“Where do you know him from?” I looked over at Matthew who stood with a scowl on his face, to look at Jackson who stood with his eyebrow raised, and sighed.
“Kaitlyn, meet Matthew and Jackson. They own the firm I work at.” I pointed to them as I mentioned their names, “Guys this is my little ginger, Kaitlyn. She's my bestfriend, and the person I happened to be talking to when Matthew invaded my apartment the other night.”
“So that's the bastard?” Kaitlyn gasped and looked over at Matthew, probably not believing that I could call that hunk an bastard. Jackson snickered a little making Matthew scowl even deeper, and looking at me like he wanted an explanation.
“Uh well,” I coughed and scratched the back of my neck. “I never said bastard.” I gave them a sheepish smile, not really keen on telling them what I really called Matthew, and to my luck Jackson decided to jump into the conversation.
“Say, if you two are here, where is Ida? She said you were going to watch a movie?” he pointed out. I looked around me trying to come up with some bad excuse to us being here, when I saw Ida walking in to the club again. I quickly grabbed Kaitlyn's arm and ran towards Ida yelling, “Run.” She look at me with wide eyes and then grabbed Skye, and gone were we.
“It was a bad idea to run,” Ida mumbled as we stood in a dark alley, with Skye puking her heart out behind a dumpster. I scratched my neck and shrugged yet again,
“They would have ruined our night.” Kaitlyn cheered and said we should go to another club, away from the men so she could, and I repeat 'Find some fresh man-meet for her to enjoy.' Ida laughed at her comment, and I couldn't help but join in.
“Well what the hell, what's done is done. They can kill us Monday.” she laughed merrily. “But what actually happened in there?”
“Some guy hit on me and tried to pull me along to get something, you know. And before I knew of it, he's on the ground and Matthew caught me before I went with him. Maybe he punched him, I don't know,” I explained, waving my arms around like a crazy, “Then Jackson asked what we were during in the club and where you were, since we were supposedly going to see a movie.”
“The bartender probably called them, he knows them both sadly. Jackson hates when I go clubbing,” she said with a shrug and looked around, “Let's go find a new club!”
**
“If you don't shut that phone of, I will throw it out of the window,” Skye groaned out loud from under her blanket.
“Shut up you two.” I called and threw my blanket away from my body. Who's idea was it to go clubbing? I feel like I had been hit by a truck, dragged 60 miles and driven over by a train. Ida's phone wasn't helping the massive headache I had, and after a few minutes I realized that the doorbell was ringing also.
“Who has the decency to ring on my doorbell right now?” I groaned and pulled my tired body up from the 3-man sofa. Kaitlyn was laying in the 2-man sofa, while Ida and Skye was lying on some mattresses splattered around on the ground. Empty bottles of beer and sofa was lying around in the living room and three boxes of half eaten pizzas was laying on my table. 'Nice' I thought before being pulled out of my thoughts by a loud banging on the front door.
I walked towards the door when the world suddenly seem to spin around, and I landed flat on my face on the floor. “Ow.” I mumbled to myself and got up again. When I got to the door Ida yelled for me not to open it, “Why?” I called back.
“Wanna bet that it's Jackson and Matthew on the other side?” she asked and waved her phone in her hand, that was still ringing, “It's Jackson calling.” I threw my head back groaning, I wasn't in the mood for drama.
“We aren't home.” I yelled to the person behind the door and a harsh knock to the door made me jump back.
“Open up Roosevelt.” An angry voice called from the other side. Damn.
“Did we bet anything Ida?” - “No.” came the low answer, she was probably buried under the cover again. “Good, because you would've won. It's them.” She, well I think it was Ida, gave a little scream and came running out to me, sliding on slippery floor almost making the same stunt as me with falling on her face, but she managed to stay on her feet.
“Jackson honey?” she asked in a careful voice, eyeing the door with worry.
“Yes, miss.” She looked at me before saying the same as I did earlier,
“We aren't home.” I snickered behind my hand trying not to make a sound.
“At some point you girls have to come out, either to go to work or get food. You can't avoid us forever.” It was hard to tell who said it, the voices sounded the same from behind the door, but then again – who were they to think they could boss us around?
“Excuse you, you may be our bosses but you can't decide what we do in our private life.” I snapped, “Now go away.” This time I gave the door a hard knock and made my way into the living room. The last two zombies had now been awaken by our rude bosses and looked confused.
“Who was it?” yawned Kaitlyn. I shrugged my shoulders and looked at Ida,
“Just our pain-in-the-ass bosses.” Skye shot up from the floor and you could tell from the pain in her face that it was a bad idea, it almost took away the fear in her eyes,
“Are we fired?” she stuttered making Kaitlyn hit her in the back of the head,
“Girl, they can't fire you from going to a club.” Skye yelped and rubbed her head, glaring at Kaitlyn.
“They are just mad because Ida said we were seeing a movie here and not going clubbing, apparently Ida isn't allowed to.” I explained trying to ease Skye's nerves and stuck my tongue out at Ida who slapped my arm.
“Yeah and to be fair, I said we were seeing a movie, I never said we weren't going clubbing. Of course I didn't say that we were either, but you know.” Ida rambled on and ended it with a shrug. “Now, let us warm some of the pizza and see some movies. We can deal with them Monday.” She plopped down on the sofa, clearly expecting me to heating up the pizza, which I of course did,
And Hell was to pay Monday.
