Our culture teacher had assigned us a beadwork project a month ago but I hadn’t finished it yet. I only had 10 more days before the spring awards banquet when our projects were due.
“Now, class, this project will determine your quarter grade, which is important because it affects your semester grade. And that semester grade will tell me who passes and who doesn’t,” Iris announced. “And, you know, I don’t make exceptions.” She took a sip of her Coke and raised her other hand in the air.
“It will be nice for your family to see what you do here in school. I’m going to display your work and I’m throwing in a few surprises. Any questions?”
