Chapter Thirteen - Taken

“Shut up, Bella accidentally gave us key information.” Matt said.

Matt shook Logan out of the daze.

“What?” Logan asked.

“Stop thinking of her ass lover boy. We are talking. She talked about Drew, you heard her. He protects other women.” Matt said.

“Bella also said his signature hunting is with a bow.” Logan said.

Matt chewed his finger nervously, then he clicked his finger.

“What if it’s one of Drew’s friends that know the truth?” Matt asked.

“I don’t know.” Logan said.

“What do we do?” Matt asked.

“Ask Bella, she might know who knows the truth. Bella might even know who BB is.” Kieran said.

“No.” Matt and Logan said.

“By the way, Logan, why were you holding her thigh under the table?” Kieran asked.

“Relax, it’s already been discussed.” Matt said.

“Unlike you, dad trusts me. I don’t f*ck everything that has a pulse. And it was only to help calm her down from being embarrassed. Bella was quite embarrassed.” Logan said.

“Shut up, we need to figure this out. Logan is falling hard and fast for Bella, and whether we like it or not, Milly is thinking of her like family. And because she is, Milly wants Logan with her. But Bella is Logan’s weakness. And if she is with him, Logan will get killed on a job.” Matt said.

“But dad, how can you be okay with this?” Kieran asked.

“It’s only until BB is sorted, so help us sort it out and then the case is done.” Matt said.

Kieran sighed and they all sat down and thought. After a while, Logan looked at his phone.

“I have a missed call.” Logan said.

“Who from?” Matt asked.

“Bella.” Logan said curiously..

Logan played it. His face went pale and his eyes went wide.

“What is it?” Matt asked.

“Dad.” Logan cried out after struggling to speak.

Matt saw the fear and sadness in Logan's eyes.

“What?” Matt asked, in a worried tone.

Logan played it again on loudspeaker.

“Hey Logan, I have a question. I know Milly isn’t allowed soda. Do you think your dad will be mad if I sneak Milly away to give her a small soda tomorrow after she finishes school? I keep picturing her face smiling as she tastes it.” Bella said.

A siren went past her fast. The rain pattered on the roof of the car in the background.

“There’s a police chase.” Bella said.

More sirens went past her and then suddenly a loud scream as a truck horn and a smashing sound had blared into the phone at the same time. Matt and Kieran shared a look.

“Where was the band practice?” Matt asked.

“I’m going alone, Bella said she had to see Sam. She said Sam wasn’t at practice.” Logan said.

Logan got up and left alone.

Logan spent all night trying to find where Bella was. It wasn’t until nearly 7am when he saw her car upside down on the outskirts of town. Logan called her repeatedly. But there was no answer.

Logan called every hospital but no one has a girl with blue and black hair. He reluctantly called the morgues and they said there was no one. Logan called his dad.

“Logan? Did you find her?” Matt asked.

“I just found her car. But there is no sign of her. The hospitals say there is no patient with blue and black hair. And the morgue said the same.” Logan said in confusion.

Matt looked at the tv.

“Logan, wait.” Matt said.

He walked to the tv and turned it up. Logan overheard.

“The shocking incident last night showed a premeditated kidnapping. Young Isabella Inkwell was seen being dragged from her car by three masked assailants and getting dragged into a van. The surveillance cameras and security camera’s all started to fuzz out and they got hacked. But they didn’t expect the one place with broken cameras, to finally have them fixed. Be on the look out for a young blue and black haired female student aged 17, hazel eyes, 5.3ft tall. There will be more soon.” The reporter said.

“Logan, she’s on the news. They have her on video being taken.” Matt said.

“Her dad must be behind it. Find out who he is.” Logan said.

“I will, get home and get some rest.” Matt said.

“I will.” Logan said.

Logan took a detour. He went to the gym first. Logan saw Drewvand walked over to him. Drew arched his eyebrow at Logan.

"You look like you haven't slept." Drew said.

“Did she see you first?” Logan asked.

“What are you on about?’ Drew asked.

Drew was wiping all the gym gear and cleaning them.

“Bella went out last night, she called me and I heard an accident. The news this morning showed three men taking her. Who is her father and how can I help?” Logan asked.

Drew dropped everything.

“Lock the doors!” Drew shouted.

His staff listened, Drew walked with Logan to the desk and looked it up. They watched the video. Drew squeezed the mouse too tight that it cracked.

“He’s going to get her killed. Do you have anyone else to help back you up?” Drew asked.

“No, I have friends that can help. They have guns and permits with no regards for safety. They like hunting with guns.” Logan said.

“Give me your number, meet me in an hour. Let me go to her fathers and scout first.” Drew said.

Logan obeyed and listened, he wrote his number down then left.

“What’s wrong?” A trainer asked.

“Bella’s father kidnapped her.” Drew said.

They looked shocked.

“We are here to help.” They said.

“Act like everything is normal. Clean up, Bella is going to need to hide out here for a bit while she recovers. She’s not going to the hospital.” Drew said.

They nodded.

“We will set it up for her.” A trainer said.

Drew nodded and left. Logan was making calls and calling in friends. He let Mitchell and Vince know.

Logan told his dad and Kieran the plan as well as he called Milly’s room phone. Matt kept everyone home today for safety reasons. Milly cried when she heard the news.

Logan received the location and raced to the location with a lot of people from work. Drew was down the street. Logan approached with his collagues.

Each one, a hired contract killer as well.

“These are the people that like to hunt? They don’t look like much. I don’t see any signs of her, but they might have her hidden. I do know they used to keep her hidden in the attic.” Drew said.

“Is there something I should know?” Logan asked.

“Bella warned you about our plans?” Drew asked.

“Of sorts.” Logan said.
