Chapter Seven Ending

“What’s funny?” Mitchell asked.

“Bella’s face, she’s watching something serious. Watch her.” Mr Farley said.

Bella’s face was near her phone.

Bella had a chip still in her mouth, not chewed.

Kieran and Logan were trying to not laugh as her eyes were wide open and she looked in shock. Kieran leaned back to look at it.

Kieran looked at it when a jump scare came on and she dropped her phone while Kieran jumped and squealed at the same time as Bella did.

The class including Mr Farley laughed.

Bella looked up and paused the movie. She pulled out an earphone.

“You okay?” Logan asked.

He tried to not laugh but his smile showed he found it funny.

“That was f*cking scary.” Bella said.

“What were you watching?” Logan said.

“I’m not telling you.” Bella said.

“Why did you jump? You couldn’t hear it.” Mitchell asked.

“Doesn’t mean I couldn’t see it. That was f*cked up.” Kieran said.

Bella laughed.

“I love thrillers.” Bella said.

Logan smiled at Bella, she noticed and ducked her head down.

“I love thrillers too. The most messed up one I saw, was captivity. When I was younger and they kidnapped a girl. They blended body parts and made her drink it. That made me sick for days.” Logan said.

“You were sick from that? Awe, such a softie.” Bella teased.

Logan and Bella kept playfully sticking their tongues out. Bella’s phone started ringing.

“Sir, can I answer this?” Bella asked.

He nodded and she walked to the back wall of the classroom.

“Hello?” Bella asked.

“Is this Isabella Inkwell?” Darryl asked.

“Who may I ask is calling?” Bella asked.

“You need to watch your back. If you love your friends, don’t spend time with them anymore.” Darryl said.

“Jokes on you, I have no friends. Who is this?” Bella asked.

“You have been warned.” Darryl said.

“Alright, as long as you are warning me, let me warn you. If you follow me, I will gut you where you stand and I will cook your liver to feed to my dog.” Bella threatened.

Bella hung up.

Bella walked to her desk with a serious face and Logan could tell the call was serious.

“What happened?” Logan asked.

“Tell you another time.” Bella said softly.

“Bella, your mood changed. It completely shifted. What happened?” Logan asked.

“I just got threatened. Please leave me alone.” Bella said.

Bella started to pack her things and Mr Farley nodded. Bella opened her playlist and she was about to play music. Logan grabbed her phone to look at her playlist name and account name in Spotify. Logan put her phone back. He looked at Bella as she put the chair away then walked out. Logan put his earphone in. He texted his dad to call the office to say he’s needed. Logan waited and moments later, Logan was told to leave.

Logan left with his things. Logan ran up to Bella.

“I need to give you the dress. So, I got an excuse to leave.” Logan said quickly.

Bella gulped and nodded. Bella put her things in the locker and then walked to his car. Logan grabbed the dress.

“I have a free period in 20 minutes, why not let me go with you?” Logan asked.

“You’d be skipping class until then.” Bella said.

“Well, luckily I had dad call to get me out of class. I told him I needed to go to the bathroom. Fake explosion about to happen.” Logan lied.

Bella laughed at his cheeky grin.

“Fine, but don’t distract me at the gym.” Bella said.

Logan nodded. He got into his car and followed Bella to the gym.

Logan even video called his dad as he sat in a bench seat, aiming the camera at Bella who was currently doing squats in the corner with earphones in. Matt watched with a confused look.

“Why are you showing me this?” Matt asked.

“There is something about her, and I wanted to show you. Look at her. She isn’t even looking a little flushed yet.” Logan said.

Matt watched closer.

Bella grabbed her bottle and walked to the treadmill.

“Don’t go overboard this time Bella!” A trainer called out.

Bella turned and shook her head.

“Go hard or go home.” Bella said.

They rolled their eyes. Drew, one of the trainers, came closer and Logan noticed it. He watched as the trainer was near Bella. She turned the treadmill on and started to incline it while walking it first. Logan and Matt watched closely. Everyone watched as they heard the beeping as she sped the machine up. It was like she was running up hill.

“Bella, lower the speed.” The trainer said.

“She has earphones in.” Logan said.

They stood nearby in case Bella slipped. She ran for over an hour on speed 11 while turning red. She lowered the incline and the speed slowly. They slowly retreated. The trainer walked past Logan while Matt and Logan watched Bella.

“That girl is going to cause us a heart attack one day. She always puts all her energy in until she’s too exhausted to move.” The first trainer said.

“Why though?” The second asked.

“Rebecca saw her in the female showers with a bad bruise along her ribs. She said it was like a boot mark. She thinks Bella is being abused at home or school. So, we can’t touch her, especially if she might have PTSD.” The first trainer said.

“F*ck, should she be allowed to train alone?” The second asked.

“She refuses help. If she accepts help, it means she’s desperate for help. Trust me, she’s as slippery as a fox. I’ve seen her in the self defence classes. She’s even beaten Rodrick. He had never been defeated before. Only Drew can get close to her.” The first said.

Logan and Matt shared a look before Logan turned the camera back to Bella. She was drinking more water and then she went to the skipping ropes and skipped for 15 minutes in the corner.

“Dad, you heard what they said. What if I was wrong, but what if she knows BB. What if that’s why she is training? What if she is planning to take BB down? You saw BB did a job while she was at ours. She has a spirit about her that Milly loves. It’s hard to explain, maybe Milly senses her fire and spirit to take down BB. What if Bella is the key?” Logan asked.

Logan looked at Bella, she was at the punching bag now. Matt watched her closely. He saw her closely.

“Though, come to think of it, she doesn’t look like she can fight, maybe they have her confused with someone else. What if BB is after her?” Logan asked.

“If any of your hunches are correct, and you had three now, she needs you near her. She may be the killer, the victim, or the potential next target. You need to keep her near you either way.” Matt said.

Logan nodded.

“I will. I won’t let her get hurt by him.” Logan said.

He looked up to see Bella gone.

“I lost her.” Logan said.

Logan turned around, he looked repeatedly. He couldn’t see her anywhere. Then he walked towards the large corridor leading to the toilets. He saw Bella walking out and get pushed into a glass door. Her mouth was covered. Matt and Logan looked shocked.
