Chapter Two, Part Three

1216 Words
“I promise I will be fine, just go. I will meet you in science.” Bella said. Kieran looked at Logan with an angry look then walked away. Bella stared at Logan then walked to her books. Logan helped her grab them. “Why did you do it?” They asked each other. “Explain.” Bella said. Bella walked into the library with Logan to grab her bag which was snagged on the door handle. She was putting things together and filling her bag again. “When I came to check you were okay, Kieran walked out pulling his zipper up and smiling. He has a reputation of sleeping around with girls from our last school. That’s why I was worried about you being alone with him. That and he made a remark before following you out of the classroom. Seeing his face, the zipper. Then when you looked red and sweaty. I know he managed to manipulate you like he’s done to others. Why would you let him hurt you that way?” Logan asked. “Okay, well we didn’t have s*x. I’m still a virgin. And I was red because there is no fan, breeze or air con. The bathrooms have a fan. He was in the bathroom for quite a bit. And I can tell it was because he was most likely mastu**ating. Which is why I didn’t stop him from leaving. Look, your brother asked me to help him with grades so I agreed. I won’t be having s*x with him for as long as I am capable of making my own decisions.” Bella said. Bella zipped her bag up properly, the books barely let it close. Bella looked at Logan. “Why does it matter to you if he slept with me? You said and I quote ‘Why her? Could have been anyone but her.’ Why did you say that? Why do you care?” Bella asked. Logan looked down with wide eyes, Bella watched him closely. “It doesn’t matter. I misworded it.” Logan said. “No, you didn’t. At least I am almost 100% sure you didn’t. And I am never wrong.” Bella said. Logan looked at Bella. “Don’t do this right now, just trust me when I tell you that Kieran is pretending with you.” Logan said. “Like you are?” Bella asked. “How am I pretending?” Logan asked. “You are the tough guy, aren’t you? Why are you pretending to be nice? Why are you pretending to care?” Bella asked. “I’m not pretending anything. I am a tough guy.” Logan said. “So, you do care?” Bella asked. Logan stuttered before clearing his throat. “I care as a human to another. Look Bella, Kieran is trying to play an act. He is trying to get close to you. He wants to annoy me because all I said yesterday was that I was worried about the girl that jumped out of the window that I saw later covered in blood. Which happened to be you. So, he is using that to get at me. If you were somebody else, he wouldn’t have spoken to you. I am sorry but he is just doing it to get to me. I shouldn’t have reacted that way before. But I did react that way. Because I thought he just used you and I am sorry but I felt protective after seeing you hurt. So get mad, hurt me, do whatever. But don’t hate the fact that I just wanted to help you.” Logan said. Logan was getting ready to leave but Bella cleared her throat. “So, you said your piece and you leave? Is that how you do things?” Bella asked. Logan looked down and turned around. “Sit down.” Bella said. Bella sat down on a singular chair opposite the one near him. He sighed and sat down. “Why do you care about me jumping from the window?” Bella asked. “You could have been seriously hurt.” Logan said. “I’m used to jumping from heights.” Bella said. “How?” Logan asked. “Not telling you.” Bella said. Logan nodded. “Why did you try chasing me in your car and finding me last night?” Bella asked. “You were bleeding, I was trying to help you.” Logan said. “I’m fine. For future reference, if you see me in blood and I don’t come to you, it means I don’t need help. If you see me in blood and I don’t run, or don’t move. I might need help.” Bella said. Logan chuckled thinking she was joking. “You get covered in blood often?” Logan asked. He had a smile from thinking it was a joke. “A couple times a month.” Bella said. “Good one.” Logan said. “Wasn’t joking. Bullying is bad. I’ve been hit by a car, I’ve been hit by a baseball bat and golf clubs. It gets bad. But I’d rather cop it so that the younger ones don’t.” Bella said. Logan was quiet for a moment. “Last night, what happened?” Logan asked. “I’m not really wanting to talk about that.” Bella said. Logan nodded. “If you ever do, I promise to keep it a secret.” Logan said. “If I can’t trust your brother, I’m sure I cannot trust you.” Bella said. “Why not?” Logan asked. “Just a hunch, you both give off bad boy, danger vibes. But yours seem a bit kinder. That’s why I am talking to you. The fact you said you can’t hurt me, is the reason I am sitting this close to you right now. But mark my words. Say or do one thing, which includes fighting with Kieran over something so stupid, I will walk away. I hate when people have no reason to fight.” Bella said. “So, if I fight him, I lose a potential friendship with you?” Logan asked. Bella nodded. “And then, I will agree if you agree that if you sleep with him. You will lose any potential friendship with me. I won’t be friends with someone using me for my brother.” Logan said. “I have no interest in him. I’d rather have s*x with a half rotten corpse. I have no interest in a relationship anytime soon. I just want to focus on work and school.” Bella said. “That’s two things we have in common then.” Logan said. They nodded. “Kieran meant it this morning though, dad and our little sister did want to have you over for dinner.” Logan said. “Yeah, he told me repeatedly. Problem is, I can tell you come from money. And I don’t have a clue what to wear. I am a jeans and singlet, tanks and shorts type of girl unless I am on drums because no one sees me. I don’t know what to wear.” Bella said. “You play drums?” Logan asked. “I spoke too much. No one else knows. Shh.” Bella said.
