Chapter 10: WHO ARE YOU

MARK'S POV:

Arriving at my unit, I immediately lay down on my bed. I didn't take off my clothes and just sleep immediately.

I had only been lying down for a few minutes when someone knocked on the door.

Tsk...annoying!

I opened it and was surprised by what I saw.

“Hi Mark!!” she says.

She is my ex. But that was 4 years ago. Why did he come back? I thought it was in London now?

“Hi Daddy!”

D-daddy?? When did I become a father? I didn't know that I impregnated someone. All I know is that I never she didn't get pregnant before.

So how?

“Huh?” I have a question here. I was still looking at the boy who was really cute.

“Marco?!” she said to the boy.

“Uhmm... I'm sorry! Don't worry. What Marco said is not true. He used to call every man he met, daddy since his father, Clyde, passed away last year due to a car accident.” she explained.

Wow, I really thought I was its father. Good thing.

Clyde is my classmate in college. He used to be my friend until he met Alyssa, my ex. And then Alyssa and I got into a fight and she also said that she and Clyde were on a relationship while we were still together.

So I said that our relationship won't work out anymore so I broke up with her. I said that we can still be friends.

They thanked me then I just found out that they have flown to London to continue their studies there.

It's also sad that Clyde died because he's been my friend since we were in high school. It's like we've become a brothers, but we didn't even see each other after many years and then this is it, I found out that he died too.

It's also a pity that he left behind Alyssa and their son Marco. Poor cute baby.

“Ahhh... that's right. Come in first.” I let them in first and made them sit on the couch.

First I got them something to drink and a snack as well.

“So...what brings you here?” I asked as I sat down on the couch.

“Ahh...just saying hello. Don't worry, we didn't go back to the Philippines to come back to you and and to be Marco's new dad. We are going to live here for good because I also moved here to the Philippines because of my work.” she said. I heard that she's a Supervisor of a well-known technological company.

“Okay, condolences by the way. It's sad that Clyde died.” I said.

“Nahh, its okay. Marco and I are okay, I know Clyde is in good place now. And I know he's happy for us now.” I just smiled at her and she smiled back.

”So, how is the life of a Mark Lester Montemayor? Has no one taken my place yet? To tell you this, I have no feelings for you Mark. We're really only just friends. I'm saying this so you'll not assume!” that's how she is. Talkative and straightforward

I just laughed at his question. "Well, I'm fine. This is the Executive Manager in dad's company and in lovelife? I don't have a love life YET." I really emphasized the word ‘YET’

“Nothing YET! So does that mean, pending?”

“No, it's because I haven't been able to talk to him yet. He is in a bad condition because he is in the hospital.” I told him sadly.

“Huh? What happened?” she intriguingly asked.

“So this is what happened...” so that's when I told him all the events in my life with Jay.

From when we met and then when I kissed him and then when I saved him from the rapists and then until my feelings developed until we dated and then the accident. No more no less.

I also told him that Jay is not a woman, but a guy. I know Alyssa. She's not the judgmental type of person. She's open to all genders and to the LGBT community because she also has a relative who is in the same s*x relationship. And one more thing, he's a fan of yaoi anime so he's thrilled when he sees a boys love. Oh my!

“Awww, poor Markie!! Poor boy!” she said teasing me.

“Stop Alyssa! Thats annoying, you know?” then rolled my eyes at her. This is how we really are. We are close to each other even though we are exes. After all, we already said that we don't feel anything for each other anymore.

“Ohh come on! I'm just messing with you around. So what now?” she asked. At the same time, she smiled devilishly. I know what this girl is thinking. It is hiding an evil plan or just exited.

“What's with that look?” I said.

”Nothing. So tell me, what is your plan?” she asked again. Oh geez, this girl is really stubborn!

”I will tell him I love him when he wakes up.” I said in defeat. I have no choice. This woman will force me no matter what.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” she screamed as if there was no tomorrow. She even covered her mouth with a pillow. It was as if no noise would come out if she did that.

Her son spoke.

”Mommy!! You're too noisy! I'm playing here! Your craziness strikes again!” it's just funny that her son knows that her mother is hiding her craziness. When you look at her, you'll think that she's grumpy, but when you get to know her, she's really crazy.

"I'm sorry baby. Mommy was just overcome with emotion. This is you uncle Mark's fault! My gosh! I'm so exhilarating!!!” Alyssa said, obviously going crazy again.

“Oh why me?” I asked while laughing.

“Arghh! I would like to see the person who makes the heart of a womanizer Mark beat, but Marco and I will leave too.” she said to calm down.

“Huh? Where are you going?” I have a question here.

”Because we are flying to Davao so that we can also visit Marco's grandfather and grandmother. They are sulking, mom.” I remembered that Alyssa was actually from Davao.

“Okay,” I nodded in reaction to what she said.

“So we were leaving now. I wish we could spend a little more with you, because we will fix what we will bring tomorrow.” he stood up and called his son.

“Marco, baby let's go!”

“Okay mommy!” answered the son. He's really cute!

“Let's go Marco! Thanks for letting us in Mark!” she said and went to the door.

“No problem!” before they could leave the door, she said something else.

”By the way! Show me the handsome singles you know!” she added.

I just laughed at this. She still hasn't changed, still crazy.

I am now in the office while signing paper works.

That's why I don't want a high position. There are many documents to be signed. It doesn't seem to run out.

Fortunately, Sylvester was with me here and he finished the rest of the work. Very helpful indeed.

I looked at the time and saw that it was almost 10. I had to leave because I told Jake and Lyle that I would be watching over Jay today.

I finished all the documents that needs to be signed before saying goodbye to Sylvester.

”O Sylv, I'm leaving. I still have something to look after.” I said to him before going out the door. He just smiled at me.

He also knows who I should watch out for. That I told him because of the boredom inside the office.

I immediately got into my car and went to the hospital where Jay was confined.

I was in a bit of traffic but it wasn't that long.

I parked my car in the hospital parking lot.

I entered Jay's room but there was another man there.

“Diyo, how is he?” I asked the man sitting next to Jay now.

“He's still like that. He is said to be okay but they still don't know when he will wake up.” he answered holding Jay's hand.

“Hey, that's okay. I know he can do it. Even Jay, that's a fighter!” I said.

He just laughed softly.

But when I looked at him again, he seemed surprised. I approached it and asked.

“Hey bro are you okay?” I will ask.

He answered. “Jay moved!”

I was surprised by what he said. Maybe...maybe Jay will wake up!

We were both surprised when someone spoke.

“D-Diyo?” Diyo looked at me. He is also very happy with what is happening.

I feel like my ribcage is about to collapse due to the force of my chest pounding.

He's finally awake!! My prayers paid off for him to wake up. I approached it and said hello.

“J-jay! H-how are you?” I want to cry with so much happiness.

But my happiness changed when he spoke again almost deafening me.
