This Girl Did What

While that's happening in Otros some things are also happening and changing on Pandora.

“Brother” I yelled as I ran up to him. He picked me up and spun me around. “I’m so glad you're safe. So tell me what happened, I wanna hear all about it.” he looked at me and smiled. As he was about to tell me our dad came in. “Hypthermia could you please leave us for a moment.” I got out of my brother's arms and ran down the hallway.

I only went far enough down the hallway so they couldn’t see me so I could hear what they were saying. I hid behind a pillar and was trying to listen when my mother snuck up behind me. “Hypthermia what in the world are you doing?” she said. My mother scared the icicles out of me. “ I was just um..uh..I was shining the pillar. It was looking kind of dusty.” I said and it doesn't look like she believed me at all. “Are you sure you weren’t trying to eavesdrop on your fathers and brothers conversation?” she asks with a knowing look on her face.

I looked down at the ground swirling my foot in a circle. When I look back up at my mother she has a smile on her face. “Of course you were my little rebel, and I’m here to do the same thing.” she says with a giggle. Then we both start laughing only to get interrupted by someone clearing their throat. We turn to see my dad standing there looking at us with a stern face but amused eyes. “Are you two trying to spy again?” he asks. Me and my mom just burst out laughing. My brother soon joins us in the hallway and just looks confused why we are laughing.

I ask my dad if he is done with my brother and he says yes. I take my brother outside to go ice skating with me and also so I can ask him about what happened over there. We get to the basin and we start skating.

“So brother are you gonna tell me what happened.” I ask him. He looks at me and he says “It was a brutal battle. Many lives and fatalities on both sides. I also heard their queen died during that battle.”  looked in shock. “Did you kill their queen?” I ask and to which he answers “No.”. I looked at him and saw in his eyes that he wasn’t lying to me. I just decided to drop it and just had fun with my brother skating. 

I was walking around our castle when I ran into the one person I hoped to never run into. Ylisa. She is the daughter of my dad's friend and he is hoping that me and his daughter will get married. Yes at the age of 7 I know that I will never date a man. I don’t find them attractive, they could be my friend and nothing more. “Hypthermia” she says with the biggest smile ever. “I've missed you. How have you been? What's new?” she asks and all I do is walk away. She is quite irritating. She can talk all day and never get tired of hearing her own voice.

She started to follow me down the hallway. I turned to look at her before I took aff down the hallway. I ran all the way to my dad’s study. I burst into the door and immediately said “Why is she here? Why is she back?”. My dad says with an amused look on his face “She is here so we can see how compatible you two are with each other. She will be here till your 18. On your 18th birthday if you still feel like you can’t stand her we will send her back and she will have to find a new suiter. But if she chooses you still she is gonna have to learn to steal your heart before someone else does.” as he finished he looked like he was dying of laughter on the inside.

“Whose idea was this?” I asked my dad. “It was hers. She is in love with you as she likes to say.”. I’m just staring at him blankly. I walk to my room. Once I get there I see her standing outside my door waiting for me patiently. I walk up to her and ask “Why did you ask your dad for this? Why are you saying that you are in love with me?”. She looks at me for a minute. Doesn’t say a word for a long time. It’s like she is thinking of the best way to say what she has to say. “I said that because it was true I really do love you. As for me asking my father it was either you or this other boy who lives in the village. I refuse to marry someone without money.” she says in a matter of factly type of tone. “ So you don't love me. You are just marrying me for the money I will soon inherit. And if that was the only reason for this you are wasting your time because I will never feel that way for you.” I say with a stern look on my face. She looks shocked and a bit taken back. She looked amused.

She started laughing. Like actually fully heartedly laugh. Once she’s done she looks at me and says “ In the future you will love me. You will either actually fall in love with me or love me for my body. Either way you will be mine.”. I am looking at this 7 year old girl wondering if she is really 7 after what she just said. I was about to ask her about why she said that and how she knew how to say that but then i remembered who her mother was. And it all made sense again. I looked at her and said “ I will never give you that satisfaction. I will never fall for you or your body. I will hold out till I'm 18 and then find a woman I truly love and marry her.”. Right after I finished saying that to her I went into my room and locked the door. I knew this was gonna be a long 11 years.
