PAOLO finally came back to school on Monday and I saw him walking with Sherwin and Jeffrey outside one of our classes. I’m sure he saw me waving at him but he just passed by as if he didn’t see anything. I got out and ran after him.
Emmy: “Hey, Paolo.”
He stopped and turned around while saying “Oh, hey.” Sherwin and Jeffrey were looking at me funny from head to toe.
Paolo: “Oh, hey.”
Emmy: “Can we talk?”
Paolo: “Uhm, I’m a little busy.”
Emmy: “It’s about the book project. We’re presenting in a few days and we haven’t finalized it yet. I was thinking we should rehearse at least once before we present.”
Paolo: “Uhm, no. I don’t think we need to rehearse. Just be prepared with your part and I’ll be prepared with mine. We’ll wing it.”
Emmy: “But--”
Paolo: “I really have to go.”
