Chapter 9: Conundrum
In the aftermath of the attack, Carl felt like he was living in a dream. He was congratulated for helping to capture the OS Marine, and was granted full membership in Riley’s Raiders. The fact that he had been accompanying the marine and that he had had a weapon at the time did not seem to be a problem for the pirates. Carl admitted that he had gone along with the marine, but said that that was just to fool him. Results, after all, were what mattered. And Carl never admitted that his motive in shooting Todd was to save the marine’s life.
