Alpha's Mate

Chapter 7

The meeting went very well.  All the pack agreed with the new security, they were worried about the females and the children of the pack.  Quin explained Cami would be opening her bookstore in the next few weeks and they needed people to help with getting the store ready. 

When the time came to introduce the new pack Alphas, Cami started to get worried.  She had never actually cared what other people thought about her, but it seemed important they accept her.  She wanted a place to feel as if she belonged.

“Now, to the announcement, I’m sure some of you may have heard about this by now.  Cami is my mate.  There is another little surprise though that none of you do know.  Today my best friend, Jaden, came to the pack to help us with our situation; we discovered that he was destined to be the other Alpha of our pack,” Quin said, and there was a gasp of surprise that echoed throughout the room.  Quin held up his hand to get their attention again.

“Many of you know Jaden.  The Seer from the Council had told us that he and Cami are my mates, and thus they are the Alphas of the pack.  I don’t have to tell you how special this is for an Alpha Triad, but it will make our pack strong,” Quin continued.

Cami's hands began to shake with nervousness as she tried to gauge the feeling of the people in the pack.  Finally, someone started to clap, and soon the room filled with cheers and well wishes.  Cami let out the breath she had been holding and smiled at the people she could now call family.

The night turned from being so stressful, to an all-out celebration.  Cami became very aware as the night wore on, that her men were starting to stalk her.  When she would move one way, they would move at the same time, until after a few minutes they were side by side with Cami in the middle.  She laughed at something a young female wolf was saying, and she felt first Quin's hand and then Jaden’s hand on her back. 

She shifted a little because their touch was enough to send her up into flames.  Every moment that passed made her want to run to the bedroom and see if her mates followed.  She knew it would be in poor taste, but her body was beginning to ache for them to touch her.  This was a crazy feeling to have, especially in a room full of people, but she couldn’t help herself.

She turned and watched as Jaden spoke to one of the male pack members.  She watched his lips moved, and thought about how they would feel against her skin.  Her panties started to get damp again, and she groaned.  Thank goodness she had put on the extra perfume.

Then she looked at Quin speaking to a group of women, who were anxious to help in the bookstore, and she smiled when he directed them to talk to her.  She watched his eyes roam her body, and settle on her chest and grinned.  He was thinking the same thing she was.  How soon could they get back to their apartment and get their clothes off? 

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the room began to clear.  Quin said goodbye to the last wolf, and then turned to smile at her and Jaden.  “Shall we?” he asked.

“Hell yeah!” Jaden muttered, and grabbed Cami's hand pulling her behind him.  The same thing happened to him happened to Quin.  He was too tall and Cami's legs couldn’t move as quickly as he wanted, so he stopped and swung her up into his arms and strode to the elevator.  Cami giggled and cuddled in his arms.

They made it to the apartment in seconds, and Jaden stopped long enough to grab something off the table and stalked into the master bedroom.

He set Cami down on the bed and stepped back.  Quin had come up beside him, and Cami drank in the sight of the two men standing side by side.  They were perfection—and all hers.

“Strip,” she ordered and lay back to watch the show.  Quin's eyebrows rose at her command, and she laughed.  “Yes, I did say strip.”

“Bossy, huh?” Jaden said, but took off his shirt nonetheless.  Quin followed, and then they reached for their pants.  Cami groaned and watched as the beautifully sculpted men got naked.  It was better than she had thought.  They were both incredibly handsome when they had clothes on, but when they were naked, Quin and Jaden were like centerfold models.  Their sexy bodies were going to be enough to keep her in wet dreams for months, if not years. 

“Now you,” Quin said softly.

“It's your turn alright,” Quin said, and then leaned down and grabbed her legs.  He put them over his shoulders and smiled at her before leaning to lick her folds from front to back through her panties.  “Paybacks are a bitch.”

“First, let me try to prepare you.  We want to claim you together,” Quin said, and reached to the floor and pulled up a tube of lube that they had grabbed from the living area.  Cami didn’t stop to think why it was in the living room; instead, she looked at the man expectantly.

“Lean over and straddle Jaden, baby,” Quin ordered.

Quin laid back and sighed.  He felt a deep feeling of completion and wholeness.  For the first time in a very long time, he was content, and he knew it was all because of Cami.  Finding his mate, and bringing him together with his best friend, was more than he could have hoped for.  When they were younger, Jaden and Quin had often talked about what they would do when they found their mate.  It seemed a little ironic that they would share a mate.

“Well, that should take care of it,” he said.

“Take care of it?  That is all you have to say, really?” she said, sitting up angrily.  The nerve of the man.  She had the best s*x of her life, and he made a comment like that.

Jaden chuckled, because he had been thinking along those lines, but didn’t think it was wise to say it out loud.  “Dude.”

“What?  I meant that we were now mated, and we wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore.  There could have been a lot of problems if we had waited.  Jaden, you know what I mean,” he said frustrated.

“Oh really, well glad I could be of help to you!” Cami stood, screaming at the men.  “I really would have hated to be an inconvenience.  Just let me know when I have to perform my duty again and I will.  Until then, I think I would like to have my own room.”

“Cami, that's not what I meant.  I’m sorry,” Quin said quickly, trying to appease his mate.  He had never really cared much for the after s*x snuggling with anyone, but at this moment he wanted nothing more than to curve himself around her luscious form and go to sleep. 

“Tough sh^t,” Cami said and stormed out of the room.  Jaden jumped up to follow her and she turned around at the door and growled at him.  “Stay,” she ordered, and then continued down the hallway naked.

The guys heard a door slam, and Quin groaned and buried his head in the pillow.  “It’s not what I meant.”

“Dude, you are going to have to work on your skills.  Our mate has one fiery temper, and I, for one, do not want to be on the receiving end of it.  Couldn’t you have thought before you spoke?” Jaden asked.

“I was thinking that now no one would be able to come between us, and we would be a strong Alpha Triad and all of that.  It just sort of popped out.  You know things have been a little tense lately, and then Cami shows up, then you.  So far, I have had a total of two hours sleep in the last forty-eight hours, and I was just relieved that at least that was done.  Can you blame me?  If the Rogues would have gotten wind that I had an unclaimed mate, they would have tried to take her.  I have no clue who this a^hole is, but he seems to have a personal grudge against me.  I, for one, do not want Cami to get in the middle of this.  She needs to be protected,” Quin said into the pillow.

Jaden walked to the bed and sat down.  He felt the same pull toward Quin as he did for Cami.  He had since he was young, and it was also one of the reasons that he left all those years ago.  He figured running away would be better than trying to explain to his best friend that he felt sexually attracted to him.  Even now, he wasn’t sure how the other man would feel if he showed any interest at all.  He knew that Cami was their mate, but deep down, he also knew that Quin and he were destined to mate also.  Now may not be the best time to bring it up, but Jaden was sick of all the secrets.

He reached over and put his hand on his friends back.  Jaden felt Quin startle at the contact and smiled when he didn’t pull away.  He caressed his back, and then patted his hair.  Jaden closed his eyes and savored being able to touch Quin, finally.

“Uh, Jaden?” Quin said, turning over.  Jaden’s hand, never breaking contact, ended up on his friend’s chest.

“Quin, this is really not the right time or anything, but I wanted to lay everything on the table,” Jaden said, and then moved his hand across Quin's chest.  “I have felt the pull since we were young.  Do you feel it too?”

Quin just nodded, and closed his eyes.  “Yes, I knew when you told me that Cami was your mate too, that we would also be mated.  That’s why I wasn’t so freaked out; I have no clue how to deal with this.”

“Neither do I.  I admit that I have dabbled a little in this, but really I have no clue what we are supposed to do, or how we are supposed to be,” Jaden sighed.  “I just know that I have loved you forever, and I really want to touch you.”

Quin sat up and smiled at his friend.  It was weird to finally say this out loud.  “I love you too, man,” he said, leaned forward, and captured his friend's lips with his own.

Jaden groaned, and then opened his mouth when Quin ran his tongue across his lips.  Deepening the kiss, both men turned their heads for better access, and then wrapped their arms around one another.  It felt right.

Exploring Quin’s mouth, Jaden took control of the kiss, licking and nipping at his friend’s mouth.  Quin let him, and then pulled back.

“Whoa!” he said, and grinned at Jaden who smiled back at him.

“I think we should wait until Cami is back before we go any further,” Jaden said.  “I really don’t want to piss her off anymore, and I have no clue how she is going to feel about this.”

Quin nodded and smiled.  “I hope she is good with it.”

“Me too,” Jaden groaned and quickly kissed Quin.  “Sleep, we have to woo our mate in the morning.”

Quin smiled and rolled over so his friend could lie next to him.  All that was missing was Cami, that really bugged him, but he knew she would be even more pissed if he tried to explain now.  Tossing and turning, he tried to sleep, but it just didn’t feel right without her.  Silently getting up from bed and going to the bedroom he thought she was in—Quin eased the door open and frowned when he saw Cami curled up on the top of the bed sleeping.  She hadn’t even gotten under any of the covers, and she was shivering.  As he drew closer, Quin saw the evidence of tears still on her face.  Sh^t, he had made her cry.  Quin growled, bent down, scooped her up into his arms, and walked back to the master bedroom.  She may be pissed at him, but she would sleep in their bed.

Jaden turned and watched his friend bring their mate back to the bed.  “Dude,” he whispered and shook his head.  Jaden really needed to give the man a lesson in wooing.  Cami was going to be pissed when she woke up and saw where she was. 

“She was freezing and crying,” Quin said as an explanation.  Quin knew he was in for a lecture and would gladly listen in the morning but right now, he needed sleep.

Jaden frowned, and then pulled his mate into his arms and tried to warm her.  Quin pulled the covers over all of them and settled against her back.  Together they cocooned her.
