As he attempted to rouse himself from his slumber, Shen Luo Xiang felt his body completely paralyzed, unable to move even a single inch.
"D*mn it, what is wrong with this body?!" Shen Luo Xiang muttered internally before immediately conducting an internal inspection of his own vessel.
A few seconds later.
"A destroyed Dantian... and possessing three elemental roots?" Shen Luo Xiang murmured, utterly shocked upon witnessing the dismal condition of his body.
Before he could fully process what had transpired, the door to his room suddenly swung open, revealing a beautiful woman in her early forties.
"Xiang'er... You're awake?" the woman asked, instantly rushing forward to wrap her arms tightly around Shen Luo Xiang's body.
"Yo-your mother thought... she would never see you again, sob..."
Amidst his bewilderment, Shen Luo Xiang realized the truth. His Divine Soul had transmigrated into someone else's body. Although surviving was a stroke of good fortune, the condition of this new vessel was catastrophically severe, plagued by a ruptured Dantian. To make matters worse, the motor nerves of the body he had borrowed were completely paralyzed.
"My son... Forgive your mother. I had urgent matters to attend to and failed to protect you..." wept Luo Lan, the mother of his new vessel.
A wave of warmth and sympathy washed over Shen Luo Xiang. After all, he was currently occupying the body of her deceased son. He could only return Luo Lan's embrace with a gentle, reassuring warmth.
"Mother, please rest easy. Xiang'er is perfectly fine."
"That is wonderful to hear, my son... Oh, by the way, since you have just opened your eyes, how about Mother prepares a bowl of warm porridge for you?" Luo Lan asked, her spirits instantly lifting with renewed excitement.
Shen Luo Xiang merely nodded in response. Once Luo Lan departed, he immediately turned his focus inward to examine his Divine Soul.
"Sigh... Only a meager few percent remains... But at the very least, it is sufficient to mend this brat's internal injuries. As for the destroyed Dantian, I will have to figure that out later," Shen Luo Xiang muttered. He then began channeling his Divine Soul energy to cure the body's paralysis.
Swuuuuung!
Shen Luo Xiang's body convulsed violently. Slowly but surely, the severe internal injuries racking the vessel began to recede and heal. Within a matter of minutes, every single wound within his body had been completely restored to its pristine state.
"It's a success..."
Not long after, Luo Lan reappeared, carrying a bowl of warm porridge.
"Xi-Xiang'er! Y-you are healed?!" Luo Lan gasped in absolute shock, knowing full well that her son had previously been completely paralyzed.
"Uh, about this..." Cornered and scrambling for an answer, Shen Luo Xiang hastily fabricated a plausible excuse. "Just now, an old grandfather suddenly appeared before me... He treated my injuries out of the goodness of his heart. So..."
"Thank the heavens, then..."
Although she appeared to accept his words, in truth, a sliver of suspicion lingered within Luo Lan's mind. She could clearly sense that her son’s demeanor had shifted a full hundred and eighty degrees.
"Oh, right, Mother... It seems you have been afflicted by poison..." Shen Luo Xiang blurted out, having casually noticed an anomaly within Luo Lan's body.
Luo Lan recoiled in shock. Her son was the last person who should have known about the hidden poison consuming her body.
"H-how do you know about that, my son?!" Now, Luo Lan could no longer conceal the profound astonishment written across her face.
Shen Luo Xiang could only scratch the back of his head awkwardly. He was at a complete loss for words, desperately fearing that his true identity as the ancient Sword God would be exposed to the mother of this body's original owner.
"Never mind... Perhaps you have developed some unique insight after recovering from your injuries. For now, just focus on getting a good rest."
"And do not forget... eat the porridge your mother made for you..."
"Understood, Mother..." Luo Xiang breathed a heavy sigh of relief as his mother finally turned to leave.
Once Luo Lan left the room, Shen Luo Xiang devoured the porridge ravenously. Before long, boredom set in, and realizing just how incredibly weak his new body was, he decided to begin physical conditioning by running around the perimeter of his residence for the entire day.
"Young Master... You have..." stammered one of the servants, completely stunned to see Luo Xiang up and moving in perfect health.
Shen Luo Xiang merely shrugged his shoulders, ignoring the stares as he continued his relentless physical training without pausing.
The gaze of every member of the Luo Clan was fixed entirely upon him. They knew for a fact that it was impossible for Luo Xiang to cultivate, given that his Dantian had been crippled since childhood. With such a condition, wasn't it completely futile for him to exhaust himself training his physical strength?
"Ah, are they just not used to seeing this old body running like this?" Shen Luo Xiang wondered, feeling amused by their reactions.
However, right in the middle of his training, a pompous youth deliberately lunged forward and slammed into Shen Luo Xiang's body.
Braaaak!
"You worthless trash! Do you not have eyes?!"
One of Shen Luo Xiang's eyebrows arched upward. As far as he was concerned, he was running within the grounds of his own residence, and moreover, he had been maintaining the exact same path all along.
"Oh, my apologies. Perhaps it is your own eyes that are plagued by cataracts!" Shen Luo Xiang shot back curtly, before instantly resuming his physical training.
Hearing such a defiant, cocky response from Shen Luo Xiang, the youth—a member of the Han Clan—immediately hurled a stone straight at him. Even without looking back, Luo Xiang's acute battle senses picked up the incoming projectile. Shifting his weight by a mere fraction, Shen Luo Xiang effortlessly evaded the whistling stone.
"Is this how you show respect to your host?" Shen Luo Xiang asked, bringing his jog to a halt.
"Pah! Does a piece of trash like you even deserve to be compared to me?" Han Fei scoffed, radiating arrogance.
The gaze in Shen Luo Xiang's eyes instantly turned chillingly predatory.
"In all my life, I have never heard anyone dare to call me trash. If you—" Luo Xiang began, but his words were instantly cut off.
"Hahaha, you are trash! Hey, weakling! Haven't you always been nothing but garbage?!"
Despite this body's physical limitations, Luo Xiang possessed countless lifetimes of life-and-death combat experience. Dealing with a mere clown like Han Fei posed absolutely zero threat to him.
Swuuuung!
The moment Luo Xiang moved, a suffocating killing intent bled into the air around Han Fei. Shocked, Han Fei immediately raised his guard to counter the incoming assault. However, Luo Xiang's footwork shifted unpredictably, altering his trajectory in a blur until his hand easily breached Han Fei's defenses, reaching his face.
Plaaaaak! Plaaaaak! Plaaaaak!
A rapid succession of thunderous slaps rained down squarely upon Han Fei's face. Everyone watching was completely petrified by the sheer speed and violent force of Luo Xiang’s open-handed strikes.
"Say that again..."
"Y-you cheated..."
Plaaaaak! Plaaak! Plaaaaak!
Another barrage of slaps relentlessly battered Han Fei's face until it swelled up like a pig's. Covered in angry red handprints and heavily bruised, Han Fei's facial features were rendered completely unrecognizable.
Having thoroughly satisfied his urge to deliver a lesson, Luo Xiang casually resumed his physical training. The onlookers remained frozen like statues. It was the first time they had ever witnessed Luo Xiang daring to strike back against Han Fei—and what truly terrified them was that Luo Xiang had handled him as effortlessly as crushing an ant.
Luo Lan, who had quietly observed the entire altercation from afar, watched with a soft, proud smile gracing her beautiful features, deeply moved by her son's newfound courage and striking transformation.
"If only that tragedy seventeen years ago had never occurred... you would undoubtedly be standing among the greatest geniuses of your generation today..." Luo Lan murmured softly to herself.
