📖 CHAPTER NINETEEN
The Choice
It was a rainy afternoon.
Daniel waited in the study room, the sound of raindrops hitting the windows matching the nervous rhythm of his heart.
Aisha arrived, drenched slightly, shaking off the rain from her umbrella. She smiled faintly, but there was tension in her eyes.
“Are you okay?” Daniel asked softly.
“I’m… trying to be,” she admitted, tucking her wet hair behind her ear. “But… I’ve been thinking a lot.”
Daniel’s chest tightened. “About us?”
She nodded slowly. “About everything. How unplanned this is, how complicated it is… and yet, I can’t ignore what I feel.”
Daniel took a deep breath. “Neither can I. That’s why I’m telling you—whatever happens, I don’t want to let go. Not now. Not ever.”
Her eyes glistened, and for a moment, silence took over. Words weren’t enough. Only hearts spoke.
“I feel the same,” she whispered finally. “But… are we ready? Are we ready to face everything that comes with this?”
Daniel stepped closer, careful yet determined. “I don’t know if anyone is ever ready for love. But I know I don’t want to lose you because of fear.”
She reached out, letting her hand brush his. This time, they didn’t pull away.
The rain outside continued to fall, a soft melody for the moment they shared.
Unplanned love wasn’t just a surprise anymore.
It was a choice.
A choice they made together.
And for the first time, the future didn’t feel frightening—it felt possible.
