Damien's POV Saturday morning arrived with no agenda. That was the strangest thing. I lay in bed and waited for my phone to tell me something was wrong and it didn't. I waited for Zane to appear in my doorway with information that required immediate action and he didn't. I waited for the particular feeling of something unresolved pressing against the edges of the morning and it wasn't there. Just Saturday. I got up and went to the kitchen and Sophia was already there which had stopped surprising me and started feeling like the most reliable fact of my day. She was on the counter again. Not on a stool. On the actual counter with her laptop and her notes and a coffee that was fresh enough to still be steaming. She was reading something that had her full attention and she didn't hear me
