As the days turned into weeks, Lexi and Max's relationship continued to blossom. They had found a comfortable rhythm in their daily lives, and Lexi felt like she was exactly where she was meant to be.

One evening, Max asked Lexi to meet him at his apartment. "I want to cook dinner for you," he said, his voice filled with excitement.

Lexi's heart skipped a beat as she arrived at Max's apartment. She had never been there before, and she was curious to see how he lived.

As she walked in, she was struck by the cozy atmosphere. The apartment was warm and inviting, with comfortable furniture and plenty of books.

Max greeted her with a smile and led her to the kitchen. "I'm making your favorite dish," he said, stirring a pot of pasta sauce.

Lexi's eyes widened as she took in the delicious aromas. "You remembered my favorite food?" she asked, feeling touched.

Max nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Of course, I did. I want to make you happy."

As they sat down to eat, Lexi felt a sense of contentment wash over her. This was what she had been missing in her life – someone who cared about her, someone who made her feel loved.

As they finished dinner, Max reached out and took Lexi's hand. "I have something important to talk to you about," he said, his voice serious.

Lexi's heart skipped a beat as she wondered what Max wanted to discuss. Was he going to propose? Was he going to tell her that he loved her?

"What's on your mind?" she asked, trying to sound calm.

Max took a deep breath before speaking. "I was thinking about our future together. I want to know if you're ready to take our relationship to the next level."

Lexi's mind was racing as she tried to process Max's words. She knew that she loved him, but was she ready to commit to him fully?

"I need some time to think about it," she said finally, feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Max nodded understandingly. "I understand. Take all the time you need. I just want you to know that I'm serious about us, and I want to build a life together."

Lexi felt a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that Max was sincere, and she appreciated his willingness to wait for her.

As they sat there in comfortable silence, Lexi knew that she had a decision to make. Was she ready to take the next step with Max, or was she going to play it safe?
