GWEN
The sound of the growl echoed across the training grounds. Everyone’s head turned in the same direction, their eyes scanning for the source. My own breath caught as my gaze landed on Cassy. She was no longer standing in human form. She had shifted into a large brown wolf, her eyes burning with rage.
The pack members stepped back quickly, some out of fear and others in shock. A low murmur passed through the crowd, but no one dared to step forward. I could feel their eyes darting between her and me, waiting for what would happen next.
Cassy snarled and lowered her head, her muscles tightening before she lunged forward. Her claws dug into the earth as she ran toward me at full speed. I tried to move, but she was so fast that I barely had time to react.
