GWEN Alpha Conan stood at the end of the hall, arms folded, his expression unreadable. He opened his mouth to speak, gaze sliding from Anaya to me, something unreadable in his eyes. But before a single word left his lips, a low, urgent call from a warrior cut through the air. “Alpha, a rogue breach near the south sector. We need your command—immediately.” He exhaled through his nose, sharp and short. “I’ll address this later,” Conan said tightly. “Everyone, dismissed.” His tone offered no room for any argument.
