I couldn’t sleep.
I could tell it was because my thoughts wouldn’t stop turning. Between what the healer said and the things I’d felt lately.
It was all too much.
I sat curled at the edge of the bed, staring at the window.
Suddenly I heard a soft knock.
I knew it was him before I opened the door.
He said he'll come later.
I walked to the door, and opened it softly.
Conan stood there, his expression unreadable in the dark, though I caught the worry in his eyes.
“Can I come in?” he asked.
I hesitated, then nodded, stepping aside.
He entered quietly and stood for a moment, like he wasn’t sure what to say. I didn't know what to say either so I just waited.
