A Million Dreams

Chapter 2: Am I dreaming again?

Until now Zeta can still feel how cold the knife pierced his stomach. His hand holding the glass of water seemed to be shaking which caused a few drops of water to fall from the glass. But he didn't care at all about the water soaking his mother's favorite carpet, his mind still glued to the dream he had.

Another dream, which feels as real as the previous one.

Heck, he could still feel the pain of how the man suddenly pulled the knife out of his stomach before he woke up from his sleep.

The ringing of his cellphone made his focus split, he took the cellphone that is on the night table. He let out a shaky breathe before unlock his phone. A message with Lau's name was plastered on his cellphone screen, he tapped the message and read its contents.

'ZETA IM SO SORRY, PLZ FORGIVE YOR CUTE FRIEND BCUZ—' His eyes widened when he read the message that felt very familiar.

Wasn't that the same message as the one in his dream? This is too strange to be a coincidence, with a baffled feeling, Zeta ran to his bathroom and washed his face in the sink. Then he looked up and looked at his reflection in the mirror.

His faded blue eyes stared back at him. Zeta noticed how the mirror reflected the appearance of a boy with messy black hair and tired eyes, the reflection is him. . And undeniably Zeta looks like a real mess right now, his already pale skin looked even paler under the light and it made him look like an undead.

The kid whose last name is Midnight then brushes his teeth without taking a shower, because he decided not to go to school with his current state. Also he's lazy.

If his dream was true, then that was another reason why he didn't want to go to school.

After making sure his teeth were clean, he then stepped out of the bathroom and took his bag and then went to the living room after turning on the tv.

He wasn't really interested in watching tv, but this house would feel lonely if it wasn't filled with any sound.

From his bag Zeta took out a small book that he used to write down his previous dreams. He opened the first sheet, and what he saw was not something he expected.

The sheet of paper that was supposed to contain a writing about his dreams gone! And after flipping through all the paper Zeta could only think, 'What the heck.'

His mind instantly went blank, how come all those writings disappeared overnight?!

"Oh gosh." he groaned when a thought hits him like a truck.

Don't tell him the days that had passed yesterday were just a dream. Doesn't that mean he's dreamed as much….. Zeta count on his fingers, one two...or 4 times in a row!

But how!

How can people dream that much!

Ugh, at least that explains how he got to the cafe then suddenly beside Lau, and he remained in the same clothes even after several showers he took.

Zeta then looked around him, how could he know this wasn't a dream now?

His gaze shifted to a knife lying on the table in front of him, 'How this thing got on the table?'

He pushed the question out of his mind and hesitantly took the knife.

Maybe, this is the only way to know if this is dream or not.

'I swear if this is a dream...' he let the knife edge closer to his left index finger, without fear in his eyes he sliced ​​his finger deep enough to bleed a lot,

The pain in his fingers make Zeta's doubts momentarily disappear. So this time isn't a dream huh.

If that creepy man in dream had not stabbed him he wouldn't have known that pain was the answer to whether this was a dream or not.

He then began to rewrite all his dreams in his little book and ignored the fact that his fingers is still bleeding and leaving traces on the table.

Monday, 30 August 2xxx

First Dream (Monster)

- At first I thought it wasn't a dream, but I was wrong. I was dreaming about waking up in a different room and then later I met a skeleton monster that claiming he's my dad. I don't like him. I don't like this dream at all, because in this dream half of my left leg was gone.

Second Dream (Waking up)

- I woke up from that horrible dream, and went about my normal activities, I got a perfect score in the my test and went for a walk to celebrate it, but I suddenly woke up….again

Third Dream (Lau's voice)

- Lau woke me up and said I was falling asleep in class. It means I dreamed about going to a cafe in my dream(what did I write now) I don't know, I'm not so sure, the cafe looks familiar to me, and the guy I saw in the cafe looks familiar too. Something smell fishy about this dream.

Fourth Dream (Killed)

- I was carried to home by Lau, then the day changed and I went about my usual activities. But that time I did it alone if I usually accompanied by Lau to school. At that time I felt someone was following me, that's why I ran but he chased me and finally I got caught(I was running like a snail in my dream istg). I don't know what he meant by,'I found you, my little doll' but suddenly the man whose face I haven't even seen (because he covered in a hoodie) stabbed me in the stomach made me almost immediately wake up. And this time for real, I really woke up.
