My First Shift

They are going to LOSE their minds!

*Reid

I've almost worn a hole in the floor in my room, nothing I do seems to calm me or Rainer. We've ran for miles in the forest, trained with the warriors of the pack, and drove my parents and Alpha nuts with questions about when they are going to go talk to Taylor's parents. I want to go so that I can be close to Taylor, but my parents don't think its safe for me to go, they don't know how Taylor's parents will react to what they will tell them. So here I am pacing the floor in my room.

*Taylor

Who are these people at my house? The men are large and handsome and the woman is absolutely stunning. My parents asked me to wait in my room while they talked with them. What is happening, what are they talking about?

After what seemed like hours my parents called for me to come downstairs, the people are still here and my parents look stunned, I'm starting to freak out! My dad takes my hand and pulls me to the couch between him and mom, "Taylor we need to tell you something that will be hard to believe, but we need you to remain calm and listen." "OK dad". "This is Sage Rainwater, Jack Sterling, and Lily Sterling. They came today to help you." "Help me?!, Why? What's wrong with me?!"

"It's ok beautiful girl, I'm Lily, Reids mom. Nothing is wrong with you, you are very special." I try to relax some, "Why do you say I'm special?" "Taylor there are things that you don't know about your biological parents" Sage informed me. "How do you know I'm adopted? Do you know my birth parents?" I ask. "No, unfortunately, we don't know who your biological parents are but we do know that you are like us" Lily said. "Please someone just tell me, I'm scared mom, what are they talking about?" "It's ok sweet girl, just listen and let them tell you what they told us. But know that we will always love you." my mom said becoming teary eyed. Ok, now I'm freaking out! I begin to shake and my dad puts his arm around my shoulders and tucks me into his side. "Taylor, there really is no easy way to say this so I'm just going to be blunt" Sage says "You are a shifter, just like us, a werewolf." I sit beside my parents and just look at the other three people in the room, is he serious?! "What do you mean I'm a werewolf? Werewolves are make believe, something you see in movies or read about." Jack grins at me and then stands up, Lily puts her hand on his arm to stop him "Jack I don't think she's ready yet". "Lily I think there is no other way for her to believe us, will you take Taylor outside to your backyard?" My parents stand and bring me along to the backyard. What is happening? "You'll see soon enough, lol" Shaye says.

Once in the backyard we stand with Sage and Lily while Jack walks into the woods. Suddenly a large black wolf walks out from behind the trees, I scream and everything goes dark.

*Reid

My mom just called me and told me to come to Taylor's. Mom said Taylor freaked and passed out when she saw my dad's wolf, mom's really mad at dad right now. I mind link Miles and told him what was happening and asked him, Corie, and Trevor to come to Taylor's with me. I'm really nervous, I don't want Taylor scared of me. Rainer growls "Don't screw this up Reid!" , "Do you think I want to screw this up? Taylor is my life!" I yelled back at him.

*Taylor

When I open my eyes I see my mom sitting beside me, she looks like she's been crying. I can hear my dad talking in the kitchen with the other's. "Mom I'm scared, what does all this mean?" "Honey we only know what they have told us. Sage said that you have been hearing voices in your head." I tell mom "One voice mom, only one." Just then someone is knocking on our door, Dad comes in the room and opens the door. Its Reid, Miles, Trevor, and Corie, are they werewolves too? Wait do I really believe this? I sit up and watch as they walk in the house. Reid is looking at me, like he wants to say something but he's afraid to. "Are you one of them?" I ask him. He looks at the others and then answers me, "Yes, I am a werewolf. " "How do you know that I am?" I ask. He suddenly blushes and hesitates in answering me. Could he get any cuter? "Your smell calls me. I can't get you out of my head and I don't want to ever leave your side" he says to me. Oh Wow. Everyone chuckles. Yes I just said that out loud, now I'm the one blushing.

*Reid

I hope I don't mess this up, Taylor just asked me if I'm a werewolf and how I know that she is too. When I answer her and tell her that her scent calls me, she said "Oh wow!", I don't think she meant to say that out loud because she blushes and looks down. I walk over to her and put my finger under her chin and lift her head so that I can see her beautiful eyes. Then she smiles at me and my breathe becomes lodged in my throat. "Will you show me your wolf?" she quietly asks me. I agreed to shift for her and take her to the backyard, when I start to walk into the forest she stops me. "Where are you going? Why are you leaving?" Taylor asks. I turn to her and grin when I explain that I need to take my clothes off or I will shred them when I shift, and like I expected she blushes again. I chuckle as I walk behind some trees. Once I shift I walk slowly to her, she hesitantly lifts her hand to touch my fur and I shudder when she touches me. Taylor starts running her fingers through my fur and I feel like I'm about to lose it. Alpha mind links me and orders me to shift, he could sense me loosing control. I slowly walk away from Taylor to shift back and to get dressed.

*Taylor

He's beautiful! His fur is so soft, its the darkest brown. He shuddered when I touched him and leaned into me when I began petting him. Suddenly he moves away from me, did I offend him? When he returns to me he looks frustrated, I think I've upset him. "No Taylor you did not upset me, I could never be upset with you". "How did you know what I was thinking?" I ask him.
