Chapter 6

When she opened his eyes all she could see was concerned forest green eyes looking down at her. She was enveloped in the smell of pine and mountains. She had no recollection of what had happened or where she was but she felt safe. With no real thought she reached up and touched the face of the green eyes. Her body felt calm, electricity flowed from her to him and back. It was peaceful and energizing all at once. He looked calm at her touch. Then it all came back to her. Her eyes widened and she straightened up. “What happened?” She asked as she tried to stand up. “You fainted, I’m worried about you. Are you ok? Does this happen often? You’re not with child are you?” he looked pale at the idea. She laughed, actually laughed. A much as she didn’t want to she disentangled herself from him and got on her own too feet, trying to straighten herself out. Still half laughing she said “no. No baby, we tried for a while, then we tried harder with science. I’m barren” it still hurt to say so, but better to face the truth rather than hide from it. He looked so relieved she laughed even more. What a ridiculous situation she was finding herself in. “Please let me take you back to your office. I would hate for anything to happen to you” he offered. “Oh I could not impose on your time, I am sure you are a very busy man. I can just drive myself back to my office. I need to get back. My office hours are starting and I have some needy students” she joked. He waved this away. “I will drive your car and then have my driver pick me up from your office. I would love to see where you work anyway” That made her spine tingle. She shrugged and handed him her keys. She hated driving anyway. This was definitely that she hated driving and not about wanting him close. She showed him where her car was and he opened the door for her to climb in. As they drove the short distance back to campus her brain was trying to think of small talk to make with him to fill the air. Anything to distract herself from the fact that she wanted to crawl on his lap and lick him to his core. “So, do you live nearby or do you prefer the big cities?” She finally said. He smiled, “I have a few residences around the world, some in big cities, but I try to spend my time with my family. They are not nearby. I have friends I was visiting nearby when I ran into you”. So he was very, very rich, not just a little rich. “Oh, that’s good. Friends huh? I didn’t see you with anyone at the bar when we saw you” She was prying now. She didn’t care. Who were these friends, was it a woman? She had no right to be jealous, she was married for f**ks sake, and yet… there was that voice screaming “MINE!” in her head. Maybe she was schizophrenic. Did that run in her family? She would have to call mom to ask. He smiled, as if sensing her jealousy and enjoying it “I was alone that night. My friends are married and having little ones, they don’t get out much. I needed to get away from the family air and the things I wish I had” She was surprised by his frankness. “You don’t have kids? Or a partner?” He hesitated in answering, oh maybe he does have a partner she bristled at the thought. “No kids or partner” he said, and she felt her body sigh with relief, “I want both though, I am hoping to make it happen soon” he glanced at her while he drove with a hard look that made her entire body shiver and her panties get wet once again. ‘This man is going to be my death’ she thought. Finally they arrived on campus, he followed her directions to her parking stall and insisted on walking her to the door of her office. Much to the surprise and joy to all the administrative staff in the department as they all looked on appreciatively. “Thank you for your kindness today in driving me here and with your patience with whatever happened in the restaurant” she said. He waved it away “it is no issue” “I am looking forward to receiving that contract from you, I would be very interested in working with you, and I am hopeful we can come to an agreement on me using this work as part of my research for a future book.” He smiled, “when you check your email, my secretary should already have sent all the required paperwork. With some minor details on what you can and cannot say in your research but I feel you will find it satisfactory to what you need. I am also looking forward to our partnership” He smiled again, but, hungrily. Just then he reminded her of the big bad wolf from fairy tales. ‘Partnership. Why did he say it like this. He knows I am married.’ She held out her hand “thank you again David, we will definitely be in touch.” He took her hand in his and that jolt of energy again. She felt only slightly more prepared for it this time. It still took her breathe again. He gently rubbed his thumb on her hand, it sent tingles to every part of her body, but in particular to that most sensitive area between her legs. He took her hand and brushed it to his lips. Her panties needed to be replaced from how we they were. He inhaled as if he knew. “See you soon Sam” he whispered and brusquely walked away. She slumped in her office chair hoping the needy students would not come. She needed to compose herself. Right now she wasn’t sure if she could string together a sentence, let alone coherent advice.
