The TV said Silas was a criminal and the room went silent except for the beeping of Rhys's heart monitor. Rhys looked at the screen, then at the ring on my finger, then at Reyes, and his face went blank in a way that scared me more than the gunfire.
He said, "Turn it off."
Reyes grabbed the remote off the bedside table, hit power, and the screen went black, but the words were already burned into the air between us.
I said, "That cannot be right."
