Chapter 9 - Lena Viktor left the room smiling, and Rhys looked like he wanted to burn the whole building down with his bare hands. His phone was still lit up in his palm showing a live feed of his own penthouse, my suitcase open on the guest bed, my sweater folded neat on the chair, someone watching us in real time. I grabbed his wrist with both hands, hard. I said, "Rhys, breathe." He did not breathe, he stared at that screen like he could reach through it and kill someone. He said, "He was in my house." I said, "I know, put the phone down." He finally looked at me, eyes black and furious, jaw clenched so tight a muscle jumped. He said, "He saw you sleeping, Lena, he saw you in my hoodie, in my bed." My stomach turned over, cold and sick. I said, "Then we do not go back there."
