Hidden Agenda

For a split second, I could see the fear in Kate's eyes as the match began. Her eyes darkened as she ran towards me. I kept calm, watching her movement as she barrelled towards me. This was about to be fun. I dodged every single punch and kick she threw my way. I countered with a kick to her side sending her flying across the room. She got up, brushed herself off, and started again. This time, I didn't wait for her to come at me. I ran towards her pushing myself off the ground about 5ft away from her with my right foot. As I came back down, I punched her as hard as I could in the face. She fell backwards falling to the ground and was out cold. The whole class including Coach Shay was silent. I walked over and took my spot next to Jasmine. We all waited anxiously for the next two to be called. Jasmine won her next match but was eliminated eventually. I had made it to the final match against a very tall guy named Clay. He was already 18 and I'm sure he is stronger than me. "Alright the final match will begin in two minutes!" Coach Shay announced to the class. I finished warming up and made my way to the mat. I was confident that he would whoop my ass but I had to try. "Alright on the count of three. One, two, three! Begin!" The next 30 seconds are a huge blur to me. All I remember is Clay hurdling towards me, picking me up like a rag doll, and throwing me to the ground with all his might. He then grabbed my ankle and threw me through the wall of the gym. I backed out completely leaving him victorious.

I woke up in the nurses office. My whole body is hurting from my head to my toes. I could feel all of the broken bones healing themselves inside my body. One plus of being a wolf is that even before we meet our wolves, we still have the ability to heal broken bones. It's not instant but it happens in a couple of hours versus six months for normal humans. As soon as I could stand, I grabbed my belongings and left. I got in my car and headed towards my house. I didn't want to be there after that embarrassment. I am strong, I just had a huge disadvantage against a giant wolf like Clay. It didn't matter because in a couple of weeks I'll be gone from this place. I won't have to worry about meeting my soon to be husband or becoming an alpha.

When I pulled up to the house, there was a beautiful red Mercedes in the driveway I didn't recognize. I pulled into my garage, got out of the car, and headed inside. I could hear my mother laughing and making conversation with a male voice. It sounded deep like an alphas voice would be. Then I heard my father's voice telling someone about me. "She is very beautiful and a great warrior. She would make a wonderful wife and Alpha Luna." said my father. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up when I realized who my parents were talking about. I turned around to walk away and accidentally knocked the family picture off of the wall behind me. Damn it. "Destiny is that you?" My father's voice lingered in the air as I contemplated what I was going to say. I eventually came up with a "yeah it's me", which sounded stupid as hell.

I turned the corner entering the family room where my family and guests were. "Alpha Zane, this is my daughter Destiny," said my father proudly. Standing in front of me is a man in his late 20's, about 6'2", strawberry blonde hair, and green eyes. His muscular build was clearly visible through his tailored suit and I mean everything was outlined perfectly. He looked at me with so much lust and desire in his eyes that it made me very uncomfortable. "Hello Destiny," he said. "You are a very beautiful young woman and I think we will do great things together. Of course when you become of age we can make things official. I would be delighted to merge with your pack and rule our two packs together in harmony." "This sounds like a load of s**t!" I thought to myself. Where did they get this guy? Like common, kudos for originality. I looked at my mother and my father expecting answers to who this guy is. "Well Destiny hunny, this is Alpha Zane from The Mountain River pack. He has asked to be considered as a suitor when you become of age." my mom said. "Did he come to ask me or you?" I asked with agitation in my voice. "Do I even get a say?" Everyone in the room became silent. "Wow, well it was nice to meet you Mr. Zane but I have two weeks until I'm 18. When that happens, you can shoot your shot but I would advise that you approach me next time instead of my parents." I turned around and left the room leaving them all speechless including Alpha Zane. I stormed up to my room closing the door behind me. I can't believe them! I thought to myself. Why do they think they make all my decisions in my life. I'm getting out of here in less than a month so I just have to remind myself of that. I slipped into my pajamas and laid down on my bed. As I'm laying here, all I can think about is how I thought this day would never end.
