Chapter Four: Defying Darkness
Ryker's pov
World: Grimpass Silverwood
After Kai, Damon, Rome, and Ryder arrived back from meeting with the queen at the office I Immediately had them explain what she wanted from them. At first, I wasn't happy with what they told me, but after listening to them for nearly half an hour I understood. It didn't seem to be good news, to begin with, especially when mythical's have been extinct for centuries. Still, I would not want her in control of a mythical if there were a few still in hiding, especially considering some of these legends are almost as old as history itself. She was the reason why they were hunted in the first place in fact. Her reign alone is supposed to wipe out every single magical species in the world. But that wasn't the case anymore, thanks to Lady Sune's spirit being alive and fighting off the evil. Although she can't do much she has been keeping the queen in a tight reign. She is the only creature left capable of doing anything in this realm, as well as keeping peace between the different races.
I hope the queen never finds her spirit because if she did our world would be demolished and darkness would take over. If she gets rid of the spirit, she'd be able to rule the entire world for her own personal gain.
"Where would a mythical hide if one did exist?" I demanded sternly as I paced back and forth across the large stone room which I used for meetings of my brothers. We may not be blood related but I feel as though we are brothers. We are brothers in every sense of the word. I was the eldest so naturally I had to act as leader.
Kai replied immediately while Rome, Damon, and Ryder remained silent, "Probably somewhere no one would look," he mumbled.
I scoffed slightly as I shook my head incredulously at him. "And where does that leave us? Are you suggesting that I search every inch of this country and every city just so I can make sure that there aren't any mythicals the queen can get ahold of? That would take years, maybe even decades!" I retorted sharply.
Rome laughed "I love a good fight, anyone want to make bets?" He asked grinning evilly. Everyone except Kai and I looked at him quizzically. I rolled my eyes as I thought about how he always enjoyed the thrill of danger. Ignoring his comment, I focused on finding a more practical solution.
"We need to gather intelligence," I suggested, pausing my pacing to face the others. "We can start by reaching out to trustworthy contacts and informants who might have information on hidden mythicals. We'll divide the task among ourselves, each focusing on a specific region or area of expertise."
Damon nodded in agreement. "We can also research ancient texts and legends that may provide clues about possible mythical hiding places. It won't be easy, but it's our best shot."
Ryder spoke up, his voice calm yet determined. "In the meantime, we should strengthen our defenses and prepare for any potential attacks. When the queen finds out she won't be happy," With a resolute tone, Ryder continued, "We must anticipate the queen's reaction and the possibility of her launching attacks once she discovers our intentions. Strengthening our defenses will give us the advantage in defending ourselves and Lady Sune's spirit."
Kai interjected, adding a practical perspective, "We should also consider establishing covert alliances with other resistance groups or individuals who oppose the queen's reign. Their support and resources could greatly aid us in our search for the remaining mythicals."
As the leader, I acknowledged their suggestions and addressed the group with determination. "Let's divide our efforts, gathering information, researching, and fortifying our defenses. We must be cautious and discreet, avoiding any actions that might tip off the queen about our plans. Our goal is to find the last remaining mythicals and ensure their safety, preventing the queen from obtaining them at all costs."
Rome, still with a hint of mischief in his eyes, chimed in, "And if we happen to stumble upon any unexpected battles along the way, well, that'll make things even more interesting, won't it?"
Ignoring his comment once again, I nodded firmly. "We need to stay focused, united, and resilient. Our mission is not just about saving mythicals; it's about preserving the balance of our world. Together, we will defy the queen's intentions and protect everything we hold dear." Damon, with a thoughtful expression, added, "In addition to our efforts, we should explore ancient ruins and mystical sites that were known to be frequented by mythicals in the past. They might hold valuable clues or remnants of their presence."
Ryder, building upon Damon's suggestion, spoke up. "We should also consider seeking guidance from the elder beings, those who have witnessed the rise and fall of civilizations. Their wisdom and ancient knowledge could provide insights into the hiding places of mythicals."
Kai nodded, his expression determined. "While we search for the mythicals, we should spread awareness among the people. Let them know about the queen's intentions and the importance of protecting the remnants of our magical heritage. We might find allies among those who share our cause."
I regarded my brothers, appreciating their input. "These are all sound strategies. Let us proceed with caution, unity, and unwavering resolve. We are the guardians of hope, and we shall not rest until every last mythical is safe from the queen's clutches and our world is safeguarded from her darkness."
With a shared sense of purpose, we embarked on our mission, knowing that the fate of our world hung in the balance. As brothers bound by loyalty and a common goal, we were prepared to face any challenges that lay ahead and protect the mythical beings that still held the essence of magic within them.
