You’re a wolf

“You’re a wolf.” She spoke. “No, I am not. I am human. Trust me, I am human.” I told her. Having had wished I was a wolf my whole life, thinking back then if I had been born like they were either vampire, wolf or both; that they’d love me or care about me at all. Over time though I learned that would never have been the case regardless. As they didn’t care about me they didn’t even want me. “No, you are not. But you thinking you are; is telling me we need to make a stop somewhere to help you. Not to mention all but like three people you know are either a wolf, a witch, or a vampire. Andrea, Matty, and Drew are human. Something you are most definitely not. Who told you that you are human?” “My family.” I said feeling so angry and confused. Where was my wolf when I needed her most? After doing everything I needed to get done, Soof programed an address into my GPS, and I followed it if only because I am her friend, and she is mine. She is more like my sister than my own sisters or brothers ever were to me. “Where are you taking me?” “To see a witch who can help. You are a wolf, so I want to help find why you believe otherwise.” She answered, before asking me, “What happened for you to be so opposed to having a mate?” “If you have known I am not human then why ask me when I was going to find a husband? Why instead of a mate?” “We were in a human clothing store.” She spoke. “Humans know about wolves, witches and everything else. You know.” “Yes, but my pack soon to be yours is one of the few that prefers to stay in the shadows amongst the humans. We do not cause problems; we do not talk like wolves.” I nodded my head realizing she was right about most of the wolves that live in this area that I know about. They do not talk like my family does. If it turned out that I really am a wolf, then nothing that happened to me growing up should have happened. My family was looking for an excuse to do what they did to me, what they allowed to happen to me. This angered me more. We got out of the car and walked up to this cliché picturesque cabin for the witch she was taking me to. I am talking there were little pastel flowers growing everywhere. “Sophia, who's the wolf with you?” She the witch asked. “This is my friend, Xena.” “You can sense I’m a wolf?” I asked, with tears building in my eyes. I was so angry. “Yes, and very powerful one at that. I am High Priestess Sydnee I am a witch, vampire hybrid. And you dear young one are blocked from connecting with your wolf, that is why you have had no clue about her. I can help remove the block, but you must want me to.” “Why?” Soof asked. Not understanding her. “Me using my magic on her over something of this personal and spiritual, without her permission. Means that I'm using my magic in dark ways like the witch that first placed the spell on you, did.” she explained, “I will not do that to you. Is this even something you want?” “I don’t know.” I said wondering if she’d even want me to connect us. Or I got her harmed over the years. “Why not?” Soof asked, not knowing my childhood, couldn’t know why I may not want my wolf after all this time. “You and the guys have been the only three wolves I have ever known not to harm me. My parents were cruel and horrid to me. I... I needed my wolf, but she was not there for me. So why now? Why?” I cried falling to my knees. Realizing I was right what they did to me, allowed to happen to me, was because they wanted to. Not for any other reason. My wolf was not able to help me so what good was being a wolf then? Soof knelt down next to me. Worried what was happening. I kept my past where it belonged in the past and while I’d been told I have never fully dealt with what happened. I knew I just never planned to either. “It's up to you darling.” the witch kindly said. “Is it something I can think about?” “Of course. Thankfully, the witch that did this used a spell that does not harm your wolf just simply disconnected you from her and she to you. I can bring her forward enough to talk to you about this if you would like. If you think it would help you decide.” The witch stated. “Yes, I just want to talk to her.” I said faster than I thought possible. “Of course.” the witch said, then moved closer to me and started speaking in a foreign language I did not understand. A few seconds later I felt this wave of warmth wash over me. It was nice and scared me all at the same time. ‘Hello, Xena. I am your wolf. My name is Herra. If you want her to completely sever our connection. Then I am fine with that. I am sorry that I was not there for you.’ She spoke with sorrow but understanding. ‘Were you hurt by what they did?’ ‘Yes but could not reach you. And I will forever be sorry for that.’ ‘I’m the one who should be sorry.’ ‘NO! You have nothing to be sorry for. What happened wasn’t something you could control. Please don’t think like that.’ ‘I don’t want to disconnect from you. But I'm scared that I’ll have be with those four wolves claiming me as their mate. And it’s not that I want to keep you from your mates just that I’m scared. I’m not ready for all that.’ ‘I know and I can help you with all that. If you want. Not that you must keep our connection over that. And they are our mates.’ ‘Help me.’ I cried never wanting her to go anywhere. ‘Forever.’ “Unblock her. I want my wolf.” I cried, tears streaming down my face. “I can and will. Come on.” the witch said. We followed her inside and still it looked just like what you’d think a good silly witch's house would be. My wolf and I giggled together, ‘I think I'm going to like being connected with you.’ ‘Me too.’ “You two are already bonding the way others do when they first get their wolves. Now this isn’t going to hurt and will be easy, but this is going to taste like s**t. Complete and utter shit.” “It’ll be ok.” I spoke. Knowing I had had worse shoved in my mouth. “Here drink this. I’m going to make some more for you. Drink one bottle every day for a week and you should be able to shift into her within the next few hours.” she said, handing me a small, tiny mason jar filled with weird green and orange liquid. She started to make more appear like they were nothing. I'd always thought that magic like that was a no-no, that magic had its consequences if not used for the greater good. “Is it painful to shift?” I asked. Figuring she at least knew what she was doing. “And no magic is not like what you see in ‘Charmed’ the old or the new or of those other goofy shows. Magic is free and flowing through the air. It's in the air you breath, it’s in everything you think about.” she also told me. My eyes went wide, thinking did she hear me? Did I say that out loud and not know it? “It can be for some. But I'm not an expert on the subject, that is Sophia’s department.” she said, “And not I didn’t hear your thoughts, the plants did and told me because they’re complete gossips. Especially, those pesky roses.” she added with a chuckle. I looked around and found a few plants that I liked and wondered why I was drawn to them. She looked at me like she was going to tell me when I shook my head, I didn’t really want to know. I liked knowing that just being drawn to them was bringing me peace. She smiled a kind smile at me, one saying I wish you well and hope. “They are still at the house. They want you as their mate.” Soof said before answering my question about the shifting process. “ It can hurt but having your mates there can help.” “I will drop you off back, but I need to take care of something alone before coming home for the night. It is not dangerous, its... its personal.” I told her noticing this look of apprehension on her face. As I still wasn’t too comfortable about having mates let alone shifting in front of them. She was not letting up but nodded and we left. After I dropped her off, I switched cars. It was not easy since I had been warned by my wolf that she would have more than likely linked them and warned them. Which meant that they were going to have someone trying to follow me. After switching cars, I headed somewhere I had the rest of my cars parked and got another, with a hat. Thankful that I wasn’t the only holding cars there. Allowing me to confuse them. I then headed on to my destination. I wanted to see one of my brothers just to see his reaction to me having my wolf. It took me about three hours to get there. But I did and walked up to his store front. Before I could knock, he opened the door.
