CHAPTER 4

Jax left the bedroom with a bitter expression on his face. His eyes, immediately, slid through the empty walls and the sparse furnishings of the living room. At first, when the owner had given him the keys to the apartment, he had proposed for him to keep everything that was inside. However, Jax flatly refused. “Sorry, but I would like to bring my things” - he had said with a slight smile to the old man who, nodding understandingly, promised to send the trucks to collect everything in a matter of days. And so it had been. Although, unlike what he had told the previous owner, Jax had barely furnished the small apartment. A bed. A couple of closets. Several tables and a comfortable armchair. That was all he needed. "As if I am going to spend more time than necessary between these four walls ...” - he thought as he dropped on the comfortable chair that was in the center of the room. No. That place was only good for one thing. Only one. And, as soon as his plan is over ... when his revenge had been carried out ... he would leave that place and the country. He would finally start from scratch. Unattached ... with nothing that would stop him from continuing with his life. "I will finally be free ..." RIIIING RIIIIING Jax, while frowning, looked down at the small device he had left on the table as soon as he arrived at the flat. He immediately smiled wryly. After all, he knew who they were. “It seems that they have already heard about it ...” - he whispered with a faint smile on his face as he picked up the phone and activated it. .: ⋆*・゚.⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚: *⋆.*:・゚ “How could you do that!” - Em exclaimed as soon as he listened to the greetings of his best friend. The young man, with a rictus of anger on his face, was walking among the chairs that were in his living room while his wife was watching him intently as she let Emma continue crying on her chest. "My poor girl..." Their cousin, as soon as she had entered through the main door of the house and saw them sitting happily there, had started to cry. And she had not stopped. Not even after half an hour. “You knew she was my cousin ... How could you tell her that you only want a one-night stand!" May sighed, shaking her head as she watched her husband complain to Jax without realizing that, once again, he was the main culprit behind everything.1 After all, Jax had always been very clear on that matter... ゚・ 。゚ FLASHBACK ゚。・゚ “I do not want any relationship ...” - Jax said one afternoon in which they had met after the wedding of Lexie and Will. Everyone had expected for him to appear with the young redhead with whom he had gone to the celebration. However, on the contrary, he had arrived with a freckled girl with sweet green eyes whom he had presented as "a special friend". "Friend ... Yes, of course" Everyone had understood, immediately, what kind of friend he was referring to. And so, in that way, he had continued with his love life... or lack of it... For years. ゚・ 。゚END OF FLASHBACK ゚。・゚ “I do not understand what you had expected to gain with this...” - said May finally after seeing how Em cut the communication abruptly while letting out a growl of impotence. All this while trying, again, for the girl to stop crying “you know the way Jax thinks about relationships ... he does not want any". Em turned towards them at the same moment that Emma raised her head and, with eyes red and full of tears, looked at May with an expression that was telling them that she didn't understand what she was trying to say at all. May sighed. “Jax doesn't want a stable relationship... it has been like that for years already” - she muttered with a calm voice and without looking away from Emma's eyes that, with every second that passed, were looking angrier “He always makes it clear on every first date that he has ... that's why they call him the Casanova" “You knew it?” - the girl asked as she turned towards her cousin. Em began to turn pale, especially as Emma stopped crying and, slowly, separated from May to get up and approach him with slow but heavy steps. “Ehhhh ... yes?" Paafff... A loud slap was heard in the room. A slap that was immediately followed by a door slamming while being heard throughout the floor. Meanwhile, in his surveillance post, Jax was watching Cole laugh as he was attacked, over and over again, by a pillow. His face was shining and his smile, despite how much he hated it, was making his heart jump inside his chest. "As beautiful as ever ... but this time I'm not going to be fooled by that innocent expression,” - Jax though as he forced himself to look away from the endearing scene, “ those eyes already deceived me once, as did that shy look ... and those lips that swore to love me while, behind my back, he was f*****g his old childhood friend". Not this time. This time he was going to be the one to prove to Cole that he did not mean anything. That their relationship was just a mistake in his life, a mistake he has already overcome. With a smile, he took in his hand various magazines that had been put on sale that same morning. Magazines in whose cover was his picture with his last conquest. “You will suffer, Cole ... I swear it!" [ A/N ] Hey guy, hope you liked LIKE | FOLLOW | COMMENT
