My Boyfriend from another World

Chapter 2

The chattering voice was soothing in Chanel’s ears while she was doing her homework at her desk inside her classroom while waiting for the professor. She wasn’t able to do her homework last night because she was working at night at the shoe factory. Studying in the morning and working at night was Chanel’s daily life. But her life wasn’t easy, besides for being bullied at school, she is living with her cruel aunt and annoying cousins. Her parents was living in her far away home town. She was in the city to finish her study there. She was a graduating student. After a few moments, the chattering voice was suddenly stops when one her classmate exclaimed.

“He is here!” She said looks so excited. Everyone was stop from what they doing when their rich heartthrob classmate named Casey came in. He is popular and he is every girls dream, and one of them is Chanel. When he came in, he was approached by girls to mingle with him. Chanel was just in her desk and just looking at him, but she can’t bear to see him because he was surrounded by classmates. After a while, their professor soon arrived. "Good Morning Class!” he greeted when he steps in the door. From then, the student’s stops chattering and they went back to their seat. Then Casey sat down next to Chanel where his seat took place.

Chanel felt amused every time she saw him sitting beside her. But she knew from that start that a guy like Casey will never ever like her. She was just an average and poor girl. And besides, she was also an old fashioned. Her hair wasn’t properly comb, and she only has one uniform. Her mother who was a house maid before, she got the name Chanel in a perfume that belonged to her boss when she was still in her womb.  Chanel has no appeal in the point of view of the boys. Her fingers were swollen due to her work in the shoe factory, so her hand was roughed. While the professor was seriously teaching, suddenly Chanel fall asleep due to exhaustion. The professor soon notices her then he approached her. “Chanel!” He shouted.

But Chanel didn’t heard him and she continued to snore. Her classmates laughed at her and teased her. Then Chanel was suddenly woke up and she saw her classmates was all laughing at her. She sat straight and said sorry. The professor just shook his head, he knew that she was always sleep late because of her night work at the factory.

When Chanel returns home, she saw her Aunt Martha watching TV in the living room.

“I’m home Aunt!” She greeted, but her aunt didn’t greeted her back and nagged her instead.  "Why did you leave so early this morning? You didn’t wash the dishes that we used in breakfast?"

"I'm sorry because I was late for school,"

“Go wash it now!" she ordered. “Yes aunt!” Chanel helplessly said, and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes. She was so sleepy and want to take a nap but she was needed to finish to wash the dishes. After she finished it, she change her uniform and about to take a nap, but suddenly her cousins named Camille and Mikaela came in. They dumped their laundry uniforms on her. "Wash our uniforms!" Mikaela said drastically. Chanel could do nothing but to obey them. It was so good that they had a washing machine so she washed it immediately, and as the washing machine rotated, she was fell asleep next to it.

After doing the laundry, she cooked food for dinner. Chanel was accustomed to such a day-to-day routine. After they ate, Chanel packed and washed the dishes immediately. She need to go to her work at 8 pm and it will finish at 2 am. She changes her clothes and put the first aid kit in her bag, because she was often got wounded every time she makes shoes.

When she came to the Factory, she starts to do her work, she felt so sleepy but she need to do her job. Her coworker named Teresa noticed her.

 “There you are again, sleepy girl?" Teresa smirked. "I went to school early this morning," Chanel said while sewing the shoe. "Why don't you just quit school?”

“No, the reason why I’m working is to finish my studies, its just a few months away,”

"I don’t think so,” Teresa said then she shook her head. After a while, Teresa's cellphone vibrates, her boyfriend was calling. She looks around, “Chanel, please let me know when manager comes in okay,” she whispered. “Okay but you have to do it fast,” Chanel told her, then she chat to her boyfriend. A moments later, Chanel was stunned when she saw their manager coming in. She soon tapped Teresa on her shoulder and warned her to hang up. But Teresa ignored her and she continued chatting. Then later on, she turned back and she saw the manager was approaching with bad mood. Teresa quickly passed her cellphone to Chanel’s hand. When the manager got closer she saw Chanel holding the cellphone.

“How many times I told you that chatting are forbidden here at working hour!” He shouted. "I'm sorry Sir, Chanel used my cellphone, I asked her not to but she was annoying!" Teresa said sheepishly. Chanel looked at her. "Why me? I didn’t do that,” Chanel said. "You were caught already Chanel, accept it!” Teresa said deeply. Chanel was trying to explain with the manager but he didn’t listened to her.

"You did this many times, you Chanel I always caught you sleeping! You are fired!” The manager said with his furrowed eyebrows. “But Sir, please don’t do this, I need this job, I graduating soon!” she begged, but the manager just shook his head. Then Teresa smirked when she heard that Chanel was fired. Then suddenly, the manager turned his gazed to Teresa.

“You are also fired!” He declared.

“You will fire me?” Teresa nodded.

“Yes, I always caught you texting and chatting on your cellphone!” The manager said angrily and left. And when the manager was left, Teresa blamed Chanel. "You are the culprit, if you told me right away that he is coming, this won’t happened!” Teresa said with his angry expression. "But I warned you but you ignored me,” Chanel said.

“Whatever you say it’s all your fault! I lost my job because of you!" Teresa said angrily.

At 12 o'clock at midnight their manager sent them home, as they walked down the street, near the bay, they felt sad. "How about now, we don't have a job anymore! It's because of you!" Teresa said still blaming her. But Chanel didn’t say anything because she was worrying about her schooling. Her parents don't know that she was working at the shoe factory, they sends her money for her tuition but Martha doesn't give it to her so Chanel was forced to work to pay for her education. "Why are you so quiet, are you guilty right?" Teresa nodded. “Teresa I'm innocent, don't blame me, but don't worry we'll find something else,”

Chanel said.

“Do you think we can find a job easily? The life was too hard without a job!” Teresa furrowed brows.  “Have faith,” Chanel said.

“Well, maybe I can find a job easily, but you, I don’t think so,” she smirked.

Then suddenly, Teresa’s boyfriend arrived driving his motorcycle.

She soon rode in and left Chanel behind in the middle of the night.

Chanel was now alone walking, and saw a light pole beside the bay, so she decided to sit there first. Chanel sits on a low fence next to the seaside. And she was so tired and she lay down there and looked up at the night sky. She had many things in her mind. She was sick and tired of getting back at her aunt house, but she was helpless. She was suddenly fallen asleep, a few moments later she woke up when she heard a trampled came from the sea.
