Chapter 12

Finn

I noticed when she walked in the door, that she was the one that I had scared this morning, she didn’t look my way, as she walked right by and then to the end of the bar where the guys were, talks with them and then walks to the back.

“Finally hired help,” I say to Ian as he sets my drink down and I raise a brow, it looks like Coke or Dr pepper

“Umm, thanks?” I say and take a drink, Dr Pepper. I guess it’s the next best thing if I can’t drink a beer

“It’s too early Finn, yea she starts today, her name is Teagan,” he says while grabbing a towel to wipe some things down,

“So how’d the appointment go,” he says then rests both hands on the bar, s**t did I tell Him? I can’t remember when though, damn it

“Appointment?” I say maybe he will play along

“Calm down bro your secrets are safe with me, but I’m here for you Finn you don’t have to do this alone, how’d it go”

I run my hands through my hair I hate the look people give you with pity in their eyes

“When did I tell you? How much did I tell you” I laugh

“Last week, when you drank way too much and I had to drive your truck home and Luke picked me up, you told me about the cancer, how much you want kids now that you can’t have any, asked if we would give you one of ours, when we have kids, quote “there will be plenty of sperm, you can share some” which is a no by the way, so what did they doctor say” laughing while giving me a shot and pouring himself one, my man he knows what I need but I laugh after I take the shot sliding the glass back at him

“s**t, I said that” We both laugh and I take a drink of my Dr Pepper

“They have a doctor who can bank my sperm so I don’t need yours, anyway” he slides another shot and we both take it

“They will call me tomorrow and see if I can bank my Sperm and have the procedure together or if I need to do it separately but it needs to happen soon, maybe the next couple weeks, did you tell Luke?”

“No man I just said you were going through something you would tell him when you needed to,” he says

“Don’t think you're alone your not,”

“Thanks man, yea I’ll talk with him in the morning, give him a heads up, so, Teagan what do you know about her ?”

“Honestly not a Damn thing, Henry said she was eavesdropping on a conversation at the diner, said she needed a job and had experience, Henry says she’s like a young Stella, didn’t give any reference didn’t want to fill out an application but did she’s also working at the diner, hey remember my rule don’t date my employee”

“I’ve never heard that rule man!”

“Well it started today” We laugh and talk some more and she finally comes out the back, her hair is down and she changed into more relaxed clothes, she added makeup and a Smokier eye than what she came in with or had this morning, and a darker shade of lipstick, I take in her body, she has curves that I want to touch, I catch a bandage on her arm that tries to hide as she pulls her sleeve down and him of her shirt but you can still see her midriff all 3 get ready to officially open and Henry has her all over the bar showing her different things and how it works, she has yet to start serving anyone that is already in the bar and as her and Henry take some boxes that where in the bar to the back as she bends I see what looks to be a faded bruise on her spine, I’m hoping is a birthmark and not an actual bruise.

It’s now 630 and people have started coming in I hear Henry ask if she wants to take orders and she finally smiles like she’s been waiting for the fun stuff, she takes some that just sat and then finally makes her way down to where I am

“Hi, would you like a re.. hey your from this morning?” She smiles

“Yeah sorry I didn’t mean to scare you” I smile back sliding her my empty glass and telling her the beer I’d like, Henry comes to her side

“Hey T, he already has a tab let me show you how it works” She places my beer down and smiles again as they leave for the register. Henry’s partner is playing great sing and by 11 it starting to die down, enough that I hear Henry tell Teagan she can leave for the night as she goes to grab her thing I motion to Ian to close out my tab

“Hey don’t forget anything you need don’t hesitate, your not alone man,” he says as I sign my receipt and slide it back I catch Teagan waving at the guys and walk out the down she smiles again at me

“Thanks, Ian,” I say as I down the rest of my beer and follow her

“Here I got it,” I say pushing the heavy wood door open to fit the both of us.

“Thanks” As we walk out she looks up at the parking lots and scans them before she heads in the direction of the truck she left on the diner side which isn’t too far off but still a ways away she starts walking but stops and turns around finding my eyes that where still on her as she starts to open her mouth to speak but closed it, then opens it and kind of bites her lip

“I’m not exactly sure how close you and Aiden are but can you not tell him I work here just yet ?” Her question intrigues me

“I mean we don’t exactly hang out in our spare time but he is like one of my bosses,” I say

“but if it helps I won’t exactly bring it up, also I’m not sure how long you plan on keeping it a secret, Ians, brother, Luke is the owner of our company and I know him and Aiden talk I’m sure Luke already knows about you, the company we work for and Stella’s might be in different towns but baby they are run by the same family I’m not sure how long you can hide it” I raise an eyebrow at her and Immediately her eyes look around like she’s trying to plan to see what her next move might be again she bites the corner of her lip and gives an oh crap look.

“Oh well then forget I asked, I better go, bye” she quickly says as she walks to Aiden’s truck and I watch her leave and man something about her calls to me … begging to get to know more about her.

Teagan...baby girl, I have questions Aiden’s reaction to her seemed like he knows her but here she seems to act like she wants to be hidden, from the talk with Ian she gave NO details of a previous life or that she knows anyone here.
