CHAPTER 17-THE CALAMITY

Since the last time that Gihōgé encountered some internal problem, after that they started to rebuild their sect slowly. That's why they still need time to settle it. Then the last group, between Tōkeigé and Unkensō, was won by Unkensō who lost the first round, but won two remaining rounds. This year Unkensō has an ace card in their hand which is Koshin. So it would be no problem for them. Today's match is over and the next will be held two days later as usual. Two days later, the next match of the tournament continues. The first match between Gōtosō and Gihōgé and it was won by Gihōgé who lost the first round and won the last two rounds unexpectedly. This year it seems like Gihōgé has returned to their peak form with defeated Gōtosō even just a narrow win. The last match between Baikaden against Unkensō, and it was won by Unkensō with a little effort. They won the first round but lost the second round, and finally won again in the final round. Then the final game is coming in two days from now. In short, two days later, the two participants gathered at the hall as they were preparing for the last match of the tournament which was Gihōgé against Unkensō. Whoever won it, will be this year's tournament winner. Surely, Gihōgé won't let Unkensō win it easily as they wanted to return into the big-four as well, even though they both were allied but still competition is competition. Anyone will fight hard to earn glory for their sect, no matter what. The first round was won by Gihōgé with ease. The second round was won by Unkensō which was represented by Koten. In other words, the last round was the determinant. Unkensō’s side was represented by Koshin in the last round and he won it easily, which means Unkensō is the winner of this years’ tournament. No one can expect the underdog sect to climb up slowly and finally win the tournament. Now people that watched the tournament started to have different views about Unkensō as they thought Unkensō was starting to get their glory back and no one can underestimate them anymore. After the announcement, Unkensō was officially the winner of this year's tournament. As usual, the Goryō-Meishu asked them, wanted to walk away with the rewards or challenge the Ryū’unsō. The elders told Koten and Koshin better just walk away with the rewards and avoid any trouble. However, Koten remembered his words two years ago when he announced that he would fight Sō-Gogen at this stage. How can he just walk away? Now he is stronger than ever, he thinks this time he will win against Sō-Gogen. Not only that, he also still remembered the humiliation that he got from Sō-Gogen. So, this is his chance for payback. After taking the pill from Anmenkon earlier, he’s very confident that he can defeat Sō-Gogen right now. He speaks out loud to challenge Sō-Gogen this time. The Unkensō’s elders were too late to hold him.

Sō-Gogen: “Oh… I've been waiting for you… Let's see if you’re really getting stronger, or still useless like before… Bwahahaha…”

Certainly, Koten doesn't accept when Sō-Gogen insulted them like that as everyone there was laughing out loud when they heard Sō-Gogen say it. However, the referee has not yet officially announced the fight, but Koten already steps forward to attack Sō-Gogen.

Koten: “You bastard…!!! Mind your words…!!! Hyaahhh…”

Koten suddenly attacked Sō-Gogen out of nowhere. Surely, Sō-Gogen saw it coming and he quickly prepared himself to evade the attack from Koten. As it was suspected, Sō-Gogen was so easily able to evade the attack and not yet pull out his sword. Koten saw it and it pissed him off so he kept attacking Sō-Gogen for a few times as he tried to cornered Sō-Gogen so he would pull out his sword and fight. Even the Unkensō elders didn't make it in time to stop him. After evading for a few times, Sō-Gogen finally pulled out his sword as the attack from Koten was growing aggressively from one to another. The last attack from Koten really pushed him to take a few steps backward as it was very strong even though Sō-Gogen already blocked it with his sword. Inside his heart, he was thinking how could Koten be this strong since Sō-Gogen knew that he was even stronger than Koken. It's impossible that Koten would be stronger than himself, he thought in his mind. It was hard to believe but he doesn't have time to think about that now. Currently he must focus and get serious if he doesn’t want to be beaten by Koten. But before today's match, Koten already consumed the pill that he got from Anmenkon and not only one, but he took two at once. Then the battle between them both still continues. Even Sō-Gogen gets serious, he still can't touch Koten and oppositely he was cornered by Koten many times. It's just he still managed to get away so he didn't get wounded yet.
