CHAPTER 20-THE UNEXPECTED ATTACKS

870 Words
Kōgo: “Deal…!!! Then see you one month later. Now excuse us, we have to leave…” Afterwards, Kōgo and others quickly depart from Ryū’unsō. On the other side, the other sects, especially the other big-four sects, start to question the Goryō-Meishu, why he is giving the chance to Unkensō as this is the chance for them to get rid of Unkensō from the pugilist ranking. Surely, the Goryō-Meishu also wanted to do it, but since there were so many other pugilist sects that came to watch the tournament, that's why he can't be seen so obviously that he wanted to get rid of Unkensō. However, the proposal that he gave to Unkensō, was also difficult in which Unkensō had to maintain three wins just to continue to participate in the tournament. Otherwise, Unkensō will be out of the top eight ranking, and will be at the bottom ranking forever. When the other big-four sects heard that, they thought the plan from Goryō-Meishu was quite indeed remarkable, as they knew Unkensō won't be able to get three wins straight in the challenging match that will be held one month later. Since Unkensō has been disqualified as the winner of this tournament, the winner will be transferred to Gihōgé which means Gihōgé would be placed in the third place in the big-four. On the other side, Gōtosō will fight Baikaden to fight for the last place in the big-four. In short, the match was won by Gōtosō. For now, the big-four sect are Ryū’unsō, Hokugenmon, Gihōgé and Gōtosō. On the other side, Kōgo and his companions are finally home. When they just arrived at the foot of the hill of the main gate, several bodies were lying there. One of the Unkensō disciples was sitting there with his body wounded quite badly. Koyuki who was one of the healers of Unkensō, immediately gets close to her fellow disciple and treats him while asking him what happened. The wounded disciple told them, a group of mysterious masked men attacked them. Then Kōgo with the rest of them quickly get to the outer hall to check their fellows condition. The blood was everywhere and it was very similar to many years ago when Unkensō was eliminated. Even Kōgo never saw it but other Unkensō members including some elders had seen this view before. Many wounded disciples had been gathered at the outer hall to be treated by the wood faction disciples and even those disciples that were not injured or just injured a little came to help the faction disciples to treat their fellows. The elders and the Seimei-Sōshu were gathered inside the inner-hall for treatment as well. The Koba-Chōrō was injured quite badly but his life was not in danger. For Kotai-Chōrō, he was luckier than Koba-Chōrō as he was only injured a little. Then for Koshō, Kosei, and Kotsuki were also in minor injuries. However, the worst is the Seimei-Sōshu. He was the worst compared to the others. Those attackers managed to blind both his eyes and not only that, they also managed to break his meridian points so he already lost all his inner Qi-energy and his martial-arts. Not all of the people will get the same fate like Kōgo and Koshin did, in which both of them can still gain their martial-art back after their meridian points were severed. In the Seimei-Sōshu’s case, he was really had no chance to gain his martial-art back by learning the Mukeifūken-ryū, as he was hurt so badly, even the miracle physician that once were treated Kōgo and Koshin, was not sure he can cure the Seimei-Sōshu. For now, the Seimei-Sōshu fell unconscious in a coma and nobody knew when he would awake. In total, Unkensō lost about 20% of their members. It was a major blow for Unkensō. Kotsuki was very upset and sad as his father was hurt so badly by those masked men. She even wanted to go out, find those masked men, and get revenge for his father. But luckily, the Unkensō fellows managed to persuade her not to go. That's why she can only cry without doing anything for his father and Unkensō. After Kōgo and the others find out, a group of mysterious masked men come to attack Unkensō. Those masked men came into three groups where the first group and two (one group was the zombie masked men and the other one was human) fought directly with Unkensō people and the other one assaulted them with arrows to distract them. However, the first group wasn't human because every time Unkensō people put them down, they would keep coming back alive as it never ends. Those zombies were not really zombies, it was just they had no sense and couldn't feel pain either. So no matter how they hurt, they won't feel anything and will keep attacking aggressively as long as they still can move. Not only that, they were also powerful and strong. Just one of them much stronger than one normal pugilist. Kōgo remembered that the condition was quite similar to Koten. Maybe they can be called “undead”.
