CHAPTER 12-THE NEXT PREPARATION

Koba-Chōrō: “I understood… Deeply apologized for causing the problem…”

The Unkensō disciples certainly didn't accept that their Koba-Chōrō just admitted they were wrong and also received the punishment like that. Because everyone knew Ryū’unsō disciple, Sō-Gogen was the one who made the mistake first, but why only Unkensō’s side needs to apologize and receive the punishment? It was not fair. However, they can't do anything and no one can dare to speak up for Unkensō as well because no one dares to mess with Goryō-Meishu. Then after the official announcement, this year’s tournament is over and Gōtosō is the winner. For Unkensō, they have dropped to the bottom ranking as they received the penalty for confronting Ryū’unsō. But before the tournament ended, the Sect alliance organizations decided to let Baikaden and Ryūsanmon to fight each other, to decide which one of them will be in the rank four since the winner of the tournament is Gōtosō and they were the third rank in previous, so their ranking has no changed at all. In short, the battle was won by Baikaden. So, the current big-four sects are Ryū’unsō, Hokugenmon, Gōtosō, and Baikaden. This year's result was also the same for Unkensō as they returned empty handed. And for Koshin, what he did really caused him to be remembered by Sō-Gogen, not only Koten. It seems Sō-Gogen has unfinished business with him as well. Afterwards, they returned to Unkensō a day after the tournament ended. Koyō and Koba reported everything that happened in that tournament and the purpose of the conference to the Seimei-Sōshu and the other elders, including Kōgo. He joins the Unkensō meeting to listen to what they are talking about as he heard there was a little incident that happened in that tournament that involved Koshin. He didn't say much, but he believes that what Koshin did was right. The Ryū’unsō people just intimidated them as they knew Unkensō has no generation to earn the fame and honor for their sect anymore. Not long after, Koshin suddenly breaks into the meeting hall and tells the elders and his master that he wants to join the faction so he can participate in the next tournament. Since he knew he can't pass over twenty, he would like to do something for Unkensō as he doesn't want to die regretfully, without achieving anything in his whole life. At the beginning, Kōgo was a little hesitant to agree with Koshin. However, in the end, he approved it. Everyone in that room also realized sooner or later, Ryū’unsō will find a way to make Unkensō extinct from the pugilist world, and that's what they intended to do. For example, the punishment was a warning sign. So, Kōgo thought no more mr. nice guy anymore for Unkensō. It's enough to be pressured and bullied by them. It's time for Unkensō to stay on top again. so, Kōgo has agreed but it depends on the other elders and also the Seimei-Sōshu decision now. However, the other elders hesitated as they knew their best talented disciple, Koken, can only fight equally with Ryū’unsō’s best disciple. They really doubt Koshin's capability. But the Seimei-Sōshu knew what Koshin could do. He also knew that Kōgo taught Koshin the Mugen-Keisho and at the same time also the Mukeifūken-ryū. in other words, currently Koshin has learned three types of sword-skill which were Mukeifūken-ryū, Zuifūunken-ryū and Gogyōdōken-ryū. Not only that, he also found out that Koshin was actually the prodigy one in martial-art among them, because Koshin already mastered the Mukeifūken-ryū to the max level, even reaching level ten as Kōgo did. However, he didn’t expose it in front of Kōgo and other elders. So, the Seimei-Sōshu asked the elders if any of them could accept Koshin under their factions. If no one does, then he will accept Koshin under his faction, which means Koshin will be under the same faction as Koken and Koten did. After a while, the elders still keep silent as they are still hesitating to invite Koshin into their factions. It's not that they were underestimating Koshin, it's just because they didn’t know how to decide it, and not to mention that Koshin still suffered the cold toxin inside him, so they were still considering. Then the Seimei-Sōshu quickly announced that koshin would join his faction. The elders of Unkensō were indeed surprised with the Seimei-Sōshu decision but they didn’t dare to question him. Even Kōgo just kept silent after hearing that. Kōgo believed the Seimei-Sōshu must have his own reason to choose Koshin to join his faction. In short, after the announcement in Unkensō, Koshin officially joined the gold-faction. Even Koten did welcome Koshin to join as he was the acting captain right now, but inside of him still wondered what the reason for the Seimei-Sōshu to accept Koshin join his faction. Indeed, Koshin also learned the Mugen-Keisho to strengthen his Qi-energy but it doesn't mean Koshin can change the tide. Even himself, the talented one might not be able to defeat Sō-Gogen so what can Koshin do? He really can't understand what the Seimei-Sōshu think.
