CHAPTER 2-THE COLD TOXIN

For now, the miracle physician can only give Koshin with some kind of pills to neutralize the toxin temporarily when it recurs. The miracle physician also told Kōgo that if Koshin can survive from this accident, then Kōgo must teach the Qi-energy to Koshin for him to survive from his cold toxin while the miracle physician will be looking for the antidote as well. So, it was quite a different toxin to the one that Kōgo possessed. However, if they can’t find the antidote, Koshin might not be able to survive over twenty. Slowly, Koshin recovered from the accident but since his meridians were broken, he lost his martial-arts and can’t learn it anymore, in other means he became a vegetable. Everyone in the Unkensō thought the same when they received the news about Koshin. However, they didn’t know that Kōgo had once also experienced the same incident, with his broken meridians and the miracle physician who was the one that cured him as well. Kōgo knew if Koshin’s meridians could recover, then it was his luck to master the Mukeifūken-ryū to level nine, or even level ten if he was really talented. As expected, a few months later, Koshin really recovered totally. Since he was still very young, his meridians can recover very quickly compared to adults. After fully recovered, Kōgo took Koshin back to Unkensō to recuperate. As time went by, Koshin's eyes slowly became blurred as he grew older. Not only that, his eyes were also sensitive to the sunlight or something very bright. That's why he must avoid using his eyes in the daylight or using something to cover his eyes so he can move freely in the bright day. However, in normal condition, he still can see something quite clear. This is the side effect because the cold toxin collided with the Qi-energy that he learned from the Mugen-Keisho. The miracle physician was also confused as he never encountered something like that. He once thought the Mugen-Keisho should be perfect for Koshin to master his Qi-energy so he would be able to easily hold down his toxin but turns out the result was a little different. He still finds a way to fix this problem and also Koshin’s eyes. But for now, they have no choice but to accept the condition and Koshin slowly adapted to it. Just within a year after the incident; Koshin not only totally recovered, but also slowly mastered the Mukeifūken-ryū until level ten. Kōgo didn't believe that Koshin could complete it all within a short time. He suspected that Koshin was not only talented but probably also the prodigy among the prodigy. But since Koshin was still young, he still can’t confirm yet, whether Koshin was really the most prodigy or not. He also warned Koshin not to use the Mukeifūken-ryū in front of anyone, especially to the Unkensō people. This is a warning. If Koshin ignores the warning, there will be consequences. That’s why the Unkensō people won’t have any objection if Koshin Qi-energy was learned from the Mugen-Keisho. Kōgo has already told the Unkensō people that he will teach Koshin the Qi-energy from Mugen-Keisho to strengthen his body after the incident and not to mention now Koshin was infected by the cold toxin. They also knew that the cold toxin has no cure yet, so the only way to let Koshin survive is to let him strengthen his Qi-energy. The normal learning of Qi-energy y might take too long, that's why only learning from the Mugen-Keisho, can master the Qi-energy faster and also increase rapidly. The Seimei-Sōshu and the other elders can understand that for exceptional. It's true that Kōgo already taught Koshin about Mukeifūken-ryū and Mugen-Keisho since he was very young in secret, but now he doesn't have to hide anymore to teach Koshin the Mugen-Keisho. As long as no one finds out that Koshin also learned the Mukeifūken-ryū, then it will be okay if it is just the Mugen-Keisho. Not only that, Kōgo was also taught Koshin, another sword-skill that he comprehended by himself, not long after he arrived at Unkensō. The name is “Zuifū’unken-ryū / Suífēngyúnjiàn-liú (FollowWindCloudSword-style)” with six levels. It’s shorter than Mukeifūken-ryū with nine plus one level. Since they stayed in Unkensō territory, surely Koshin also became one of the Unkensō disciples. And for Kōgo, he also became one of the elders as it was decided long ago. It's just that he didn't show himself too much in public. Only when Unkensō has an important or big meeting, then he will show up. For normal occasions, most of the people in Unkensō won't see his face. Since he also doesn’t have other direct disciples beside Koshin, he seldom shows himself in the sect. Most of the time, he stayed in his hut to do some chores for Unkensō and also to maintain his body since the poison inside his body wasn’t yet clear.
