Not only that, most of them are the captain of the faction as they were the first generation that joined Unkensō after being rebuilt. However some of them were in exceptional situations for example. Koken was the captain in the Seimei-Sōshu’s faction, even Koten was in the same faction, however since Koken was the eldest one so he was chosen to become the captain faction and Koten became the vice-captain. For Kotsuki who was the daughter of the Seimei-Sōshu, she did not choose to stay in his father's faction. Since his father's faction already has two disciples, her father let her join another faction to balance the factions. As it mentioned before, only the direct disciple of Seimei-Sōshu can be chosen to be the next Seimei-Sōshu because they will inherit the Mugen-Keisho. For now, they have two options which are Koken and Koten as they are both not only the direct disciple of the Seimei-Sōshu but they are also the most talented disciples that Unkensō had. That's why to choose who is going to be the next Seimei-Sōshu, the current Seimei-Sōshu and the elders decided to let them both study the Mugen-Keisho and Mukeifūken-Ryū to see who is the most talented between them both. Seems like Koken was a little more talented compared to Koten. But for Koten, as long as it's not decided yet, he thought he still had the chance to prove to others that he was the only one worthy to be the next Seimei-Sōshu of Unkensō. Currently, Koken is not available as he was on travelling to look for experience as the Seimei-Sōshu told him so. For any disciples when they are older enough (over twenty-two), they can go travelling to look for experiences and also serve the upright and justice at the same time in the pugilist world. That's why right now, Koten was the acting captain for his faction when Koken was not around and also a big chance for him to prove himself. Koken was three years older than Koten; and Koten was just a few months older than Kotsuki. Kotsuki was two years older than Koshō. Koshō was one year older than Kosei. Kosei was also one year older than Koyuki. Then Koyuki was two years older than Koshin. Beside that, each faction is also named based on the ancient Chinese five elements, which are gold, wood, water, fire, and earth as they were named like that since long ago. The Seimei-Sōshu faction is called the “gold faction”, followed by other elders' factions but not in order, according to the elements. The wood faction was under the elder called “Kanō-Koyō / Yè-Gǔróng”. This wood faction elder-Koyō was the only female elder in Unkensō. The water faction was under the elder called “Kanō-Koba / Yè-Gǔchǎng”. The fire faction was under the elder called “Kanō-Kotai / Yè-Gǔtài”. And the last one, earth faction was under the elder called “Kanō-Kogen / Yè-Gǔyuán”. As it mentioned before, Koken is the gold faction captain (currently the acting captain was Koten as Koken wasn't around), Koshō the fire faction captain, Kosei the water faction captain, Kotsuki the earth faction captain, and the last one, Koyuki the wood faction captain. This is how the elders tell the differences among their disciples. Not only in Unkensō, every sect has their own name for their factions, including Ryū’unsō. For the wood faction, since it was related to plants and herbs, that's why Koyuki chose to join the wood faction at that time when she was younger, because she wants to learn how to treat and cure people. Not only that, she also hopes one day she can find a cure to treat Koshin’s toxin. And for Koshin, since his master doesn’t own a faction so he is just a normal disciple like others, only the difference is he is the direct disciple of Kōgo. As it was told before, the indirect disciples were under the shade of Kōgo, but he was assisted by someone that helped him take care of all the indirect disciples. His name is “Kanō-Kosan / Yè-Gǔshān”. Actually Kosan was under the faction of Koba-Chōrō, it was just he was appointed to help Kōgo to manage the outer disciples. It can be said that he was the indirect disciple’s captain. Even Koshin must still obey him. He is just one year younger than Koken. He was big enough when he first arrived at Unkensō. The rumor said he was saved by Kōgo when one day Kōgo was on the way back from the miracle physician place. It said that he was sold by his parents when he was very young because his family was very poor. So his parents had no choice but to sell him. However, he was sold to a dark organization that kept children to become slave-workers in a mine. When he was big enough, he ran away together with other slaves. But those people in the organization notice it, and chase them all around until he meets Kōgo and Kōgo saves him from those people's hands. That's how he joined Unkensō.
