After changing into a pair of pajamas, I crawled into bed next to Lorenzo, feeling my drowsiness creeping in. He stirred from his spot and rested his arm across me, gently pulling me in. I let him. I didn’t have the energy to argue or kick him in the shin anyway. “Where were you?” he whispered in my ear, his voice still groggy and hoarse from sleep. “Just outside.” I felt him open his eyes and he propped himself up on his elbow, staring down at me. “What were you two talking about?” I finally met his gaze.
