THIRD PERSON’s POV The next morning, sunlight poured over the balcony outside her father’s room, warm and golden, as if the world hadn’t tilted on its axis the night before. Adrienne paced the tiled floor. Her father slept peacefully inside, oblivious to everything. She pressed her palms to the cool railing, trying to force Dimitri out of her head. The taste of his mouth. The scrape of his teeth against her skin. The way his fingers had known exactly— “Girl? Are you okay?” Zoe’s voice snapped her out of it.
