I had just finished editing a document when I heard the doorbell. I picked my laptop up from my thigh and placed it safely on the table before getting up. I walked towards the door and opened it to find Vicky standing on the other side.
"Hey Vicky." I welcomed her, moving aside to let her come in.
"Hi Roy." I closed the door before walking in beside Vicky.
I walked to the kitchen to get her a drink, then headed to the living room.
"I thought you were going to spend all day with Richard. You two are inseparable." I handed the drink over to her before taking a seat.
"We spent the weekend together. I need some time and, besides, I miss my best friend."
